New Everton Stadium

I've booked me & my eldest lad (19) on for a Goodison stadium tour at 1pm on Saturday, from there we're going to Bramley Moore to see it in the flesh!!
... Going to get loads of pics & selfies of us ?... Before starting a day sesh in the Bramley Moore pub & then a taxi to pubs near the hot water comedy club where we're going to see Paul Smith!
Were coming up from Wigan (wool?) & due to work commitments we only get to see about 5 games a season!!
...sooo excited to see the progress in real life & spend great day with my eldest??

Sounds like that will be a great day. Enjoy ;)

The last official word from the LOR Project lead that I saw is that ethey were 6-10 weeks behind due primarily to complications with dock clearance (but also a slower workforce ramp up). He said then that could be contained within the ‘allowances’ built into the plan.

It possibly can, if everything goes right but if North & South roof trusses are not up before bad weather sets in that slippage likely grows as it will limit the work that can be done across winter (the joys of critical path analysis with any project are exacerbated in construction).

I tend to agree that with AndyRJ that 24/25 season start is optimistic but as he says it is not unusual at all. At least so far we are not self-inflicting delays with whimsical late design changes or work done wrong having been redone due to contradictory/unclear plans so hopefully that competence continues when we get to outfit and ‘trade conflicts’ are more likely (as anyone who has redeveloped a house will understand).

I'll be very, very surprised if there aren't more delays when we get to the internal fit-out. I don't think we'll hit any significant issues as such but a lot of relatively small issues soon add up. Completion 4-6 months after the start of the 24-25 season isn't unrealistic in my opinion.

Worth noting that in LoR's press release last month they said the following:

Note they are saying 'IN' the 24/25 season and not 'FOR'.

I'll take that.

Disagree. Another 8k wouldn’t of made a difference to the atmosphere. The way I currently see it is that Goodison holds 38k or so. We sell out every game. There is a wait for season tickets which I believe it around 10-15k. I know myself, me, my brother and my Dad have been on the waiting list for a few years now.

The difference in revenue another 8k would of made is about another half a million in ticket sales a year. Then all of the other money that comes with it, merchandise, food, drinks etc etc.

60k should of been the bench mark.
rule number 1 - always let demand outstrip supply

…..this is further along the Dock Rd before the 3 Graces and Overhead Railway, but these stunning old pictures paint a picture of what things were like at BMD back in the day.

i think it’s important that the architects are preserving a number of links to the City’s past.

Unreal that, look how many ships are there.
