Whilst location is one of the most important criteria for fans, for the club it's the finances that matter most.

The extra income generated must be greater than the cost of financing, after all we must improve our matchday revenues.

It's going to be fascinating to look at the cost, how it is financed and the expected revenues in the future.

Indeed, I can't imagine sentiment being allowed to play much part in the decision, if any. This is going to be a hard-nosed business decision based on selecting an affordable option that maximises our future revenue growth.

If the powers that be are actually serious about a commonwealth games bid then in my opinion there's only 1 place they are going to want a stadium & that's smack bang in the middle of the waterfront so as to showcase the city & it kickstarts the development there and tidy's the goddam place up.
Imagine the impression folks get on their nice big cruise ships as they turn into the Mersey, all out on deck to view a world famous waterfront as they approach & all they see for the 1st 10 minutes is derelict dockland, they take that away with them & pictures of a wasted urban landscape that they've never seen the like of.
Compare that to turning into the Mersey & it being the view of an amazing stadium & a fully developed waterfront leading up to an area with iconic & historical buildings.

Saying that Stonebridge is ready to build on now will force Peels hand, get into gear or lose out, LCC are probably getting a bit sick of waiting for them to do something with that area tbh.

I said "hosting a grand prix" earlier 'tongue in cheek' but it wouldn't half be a money earner if a track was put on there as well, other dock areas have been redeveloped around the world & these sorts of things have been done.

I reckon there'll be some mock up ready to be leaked soon regarding Stonebridge cos in this day & age things like that can be done quite quickly, even producing 3d printed scale models that would previously have taken months to construct can literally be done overnight by a bunch of students for the price of a 'big bag o' bush' a generous Pizza order & a head bag full of munchies.

Im an out of towner but Anderson seems like a scumbag.... he does not seem to care at all about Everton but is only looking at solutions that will increase his own political profile.... regeneration of an area no one else will Invest into and the possibility of applying for commenwelth games... will look good on his resume...

If he did have an interest in Everton he would look into the needs of Everton and adressing that when he speaks.... Hope no one falls for his trick to make the fanbase push for this shitty stadium solution "You have the Money.... it can be done in three years... etc"

Anderson goes on about the stadium being built in 3 years but this will be our stadium for 100+ years so we shouldn't be rushed into anything. I'm prepared to wait for the iconic location no matter how long it takes, the iconic location that takes us to the next level. If he's such a good blue, he should be wanting the same.

Various Grants will be available as well that go towards it & if set up as a company to run the games it could well cover the costs of the stadium.

Although of course the ultimate Popcorn would be a Montreal situation that saw kopites paying it off for the next 50+ years, it'll be hilarious enough if theyre having to fund it via LCC as it is but if theyre paying it off for eternity even better, imagine the scenes when council tax bills arrive & below the breakdown that lists the Police, Bins etc there's a section that said 'Everton Stadium.'

Completely agree, he's got absolutely no vision, he's turned the city centre into large scale student accommodation and failed to build on our strengths in the games industry. His comment about stadium designs being available off the shelf: "And don't forget the designs for stadiums are pretty easy to pick up." - stinks. Nothing but the best eh Joe? Suddenly he's saying the Council can put in resources when previously it was pretty much nothing.

In my opinion he's totally out of order with his comments and just using this situation for political gain. In short he should keep quiet and let the club get on with their research. When there's something for the club to announce he can chip in.

Suspect our new Mr Big will decide chaps. Would not stress about it because very rich men tend not to do things by committee
My worry would be the influence of Kenwright, given his disastrous track record in this. If he and the companies that Everton have used in the past are not involved I'd feel a lot better about the situation. Still prefer to redevelop Goodison to be honest.

Does anyone know if staying inside the E.U. will help provide funding assistance?

As for kopites paying via their local taxes, I dont think we should be looking at Oslo as an option.
