New Everton Stadium

If it doesn't sell - shops won't stock it. I would hazard a guess that we're not a huge tourist draw.

I remember walking in to a sports shop in Florida in 2009 and I kid you not, front and centre of the 'Soccer' section was a beautiful, royal blue official replica Everton jersey. I was rather surprised why it was pride of place. Hey, maybe the store owner knew his apples when it came to football.

Croxteth is a terrible idea nothing there, it would be a case of in and out for the game.
I have been going to the old lady since 1958, and part of my match day is having a pint before and after the game with mates.
If we can not have the docks (my choice) what about Edge Lane, plenty of land and transport links.

This is how I want my stadium to look.. Have you just come up with this or have EFC put this out somewhere

This was leaked accidentally a little while ago on a architect's website that said they had worked on a new Everton stadium, via some architect forum. However there I don't think there was a context to where that stadium was (ie might have been WHP) and the post and design were swiftly vanished.

Of course it is circular, but if the profile is low to begin with....

This.

One of the reasons we are not a "tourist draw" is that there is little or no chance of these tourists ever having seen an Everton shirt in the sports shops in their own cities or towns.

And this is because Kitbag sell our stuff online only.

We have little profile beyond Walton and practically none outside the city of Liverpool.

We have discussed many times on here how pathetic EFC has been in projecting its image on a national stage, let alone a European or even global one.

And the net result of all this is that one can barely buy an Everton themed knick knack or trinket in the tourist trap shops on Albert Dock and beyond.

It is a disgrace.

Hopefully these issues will be addressed and eradicated as the regime noveau kicks in.

If you click the little arrow on the quote below, it'll take you to when it hit this forum and you'll see all the chatter about it from then ;) (the link in the quote doesn't work anymore as it was pulled from their site)

Kitbag, and to some degree the club, are understandably getting a hiding on here, but just how much EFC merchandise presence was there in the city centre prior to Kitbag ?
Has it massively dropped or stayed moreorless the same - if we had little or no 'tourist trade' previously...

I can't remember Block, if I am honest with you :(

And that fact alone suggests to me it wasn't very visible.

One would like to think the club were looking to up their profile by entering into partnership with Kitbag but if so, the result has been miserable failure.

Not wanting to get carried away like but imagine bEuropean nights under the lights next to the Mersey in a 60,000 seater stadium.

And all the while our friends will be stuck in the land that time forgot, next to Stanley Park with that absurd lopsided stand.

i live in Perth nowadays and thought i would post this link of a new stadium that is getting built here next to a river. there is some interesting info on the site about planning, budgets and timelines etc. The main points i suppose is i think the claim that Everton may have a new stadium within 3 years is very unrealistic. Secondly i imagine a stadium to support Commonwealth games would having the running track type layout that would need to be overcome to get fans pitch-side for football. Opportunity to reintroduce standing areas maybe :) anyway for what its worth... http://www.perthstadium.com.au/images-and-video

Kind of amazing as many of us outside L4 have found our way to Everton at all. Just imagine what the brand could be with competent marketing.

Peel have done absolutely nothing with Liverpool Waters. They need to crap or get off the pot. If they were building something, ANYTHING, then I could see them say no. But they've done naught. Put the same stadium in there and build mixed use around it...shops, flats, office space...a Everton Hall of Fame...pubs...
