New Everton Stadium

The stadium is going to be owned, controlled and leased to Everton by a separate company, Everton are not going to own the stadium, they are just going to have a lease on it.
Even if this were true, which I doubt, so what?

There is sfa benefit in owning a stadium - what are the re-sale possibilities?? Who would want to buy a second hand stadium for hundreds of millions.

Shamrock Rovers' Tallaght Stadium is the best in the League of Ireland, owned by South Dublin County Council, and is home to Rovers and Ireland under 21s and Ladies football teams.

Meanwhile Rovers have been able to afford the development of a state of the art training facility with sponsorship from the private sector, we have won three Leagues in a row, and have the strongest squad and under age teams in the country.

This for a Club that was relegated because of points deduction for financial irregularities by previous owners and almost went out of existence in 2005.

Far better to lease than pay a massive mortgage. Finances can be much better spent on players and backroom.

The Guardian demanding to know the ins and outs of all Everton's finances...not getting them...and then getting a titty lip and writing what they want - casting doubt on the stadium's completion...

"The Guardian understands that if the stadium is not finished, Everton is obliged to pay to return Bramley-Moore Dock to the condition it found it in. Experts suggested that such a bill could run to tens – if not hundreds – of millions of pounds."

lol

"despite those quirky surroundings"

AKA a World Heritage Site until very recently.

FFS, how do these chimps get jobs?
Like Peel would make them take the steel down and empty the sand out.

Carillion's demise wasn't helped by around half a billion quid of unpaid invoices in the Middle East, specifically from a county that likes global football tournaments, and a neighbour who suddenly likes golf. A lot of large companies - local and foreign, met their end due to this in the last half decade.

Also a reason why many companies that set up in these countries run their offices as a seperate business. You will often find that their names are prefixed or suffixed to provide a distinction between the two. That gives a level of protection up the chain.

The New Everton Stadium has been put forward for the bid for the 2028 Euro;s.

Probably worth mentioning it's part of a list of 14 which will be reduced to 10.

Not too confident they'll keep ours as they won't want upset the other countries.

1. Liverpool Everton Stadium
2. Birmingham Villa Park
3. London London Stadium

4. London Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
5. London Wembley Stadium
6. Manchester City of Manchester Stadium
7. Newcastle St James' Park
8. Sunderland Stadium of Light
9. Trafford Old Trafford

10. Dublin Dublin Arena
11. Dublin Croke Park
12. Belfast Casement Park Stadium
13. Glasgow Hampden Park
14. Cardiff National Stadium of Wales

Put in bold the ones I would take out.

Apparently Villa and one of St James or Stadium of light will be in the final bid just to spread it geographically. If it's to be believed we are pooled in with both Manchester clubs and only 1 will be included. If that is the case I don't fancy our chances.

If we say one from each of the other nations from the British Isles and Wembley that leaves 5 others from England, Spurs is obvious, Newcastle and Villa get in by default.

My guess would be one of the London, Manchester and North East stadiums will go and then probably one of the Dublin ones.
