New Everton Stadium

We should really be looking emulate something like the Veltins Arena in Germany. Retractable roof and Retractable pitch, it would be awesome at the docks, as shown below it looks brilliant as a football stadium, but can also be used for; boxing, concerts, ice hockey,etc;

So, having voted in a poll of where I think our new stadium should be (Docks for me) I couldn't help thinking is the 14 votes against the docks(or is it for Stonebridge) the shoite having a cheap shot at an Everton poll through jealousy that we MAY actually be getting what we have striven for for years, an icon stadium on the docks or are their Evertonians out their who believe that Stonebridge, on the edge of Knowsley and the outskirts of the city, is the preferred choice for a stadium?

I can see little benefit to the Stonebridge argument unless you need instant access to a motorway, the docks only being 10 minutes from M57 via walton/Fazakerley, M62 through ringroad to fiveways or all bus routes via town (10 minute walk) or Lime Street (10 minute walk.

The benefits of for the drinkers having the town centre near by or any new bars and restaurants that may come with it surely must outway the new Marstons pub and the KFC at Stonebridge but maybe I am missing something.

Or is it just those bitter 14 shoite voters and we are all in agreement that its the docks!!!!

Why on earth are the red echo doing a poll on this? They know it will be hijacked by their redshiite readers.
I saw an Everton account on twitter ask Greg O'Keeffe to set one up the other day and he said he would. The twitter account had done one and it was about 95% for the docks.

The only benefit over a docks site is surely land value being cheaper?

Yeah, if, IF, we get a dockland site we need to be giving the city a facility it doesn't currently have and a retractable roof would be great. Stadia these days can also be easily partitioned to handle all manner of events.

Yes. Only on the Wirral line. Park and ride from there would be easy enough. A quick cab wouldn't break the bank. People forget the high number of black hacks there are in Liverpool.
Jeez mate, I know the Echo isn't a great newspaper, but let's keep race out of it, eh?

GP appears to have a rather substantial footprint for its capacity. Would modern construction allow for more seats per square metre than the 4 GP stands currently provide?

Not sure but interesting Trevor Skempton saying the cheaper seats should be closer together to give that 'old skool' feel you don't get at The Emirates for example.

The two examples are roughly the same footprint but the Juve stadium has seating in all four corners (unlike GP which only has the one), and also doesn't have overlapping stands like at GP
