New Everton Stadium

Most of us will still call it Bramley-Moore irrespective of sponsorship and I don't think the pub will change it's name either :pint2:

I do like BMD (stadium) but Everton seem to be calling it the Everton stadium, like Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

I imagine most people would still call it Bramley Moore, but whatever happened to Mere Green? Goodison Park or Mere Green?

How many people ever said "Is our next game at Goodison Road or away?".

The first sponsor name will stick. Just as a lot of people still say the Echo Arena rather than the M&S Bank Arena or Kings Dock.

no but they do say Goodison, so I'm sure fans will say Bramley Moore or at least BMD, which is easy to say and quite catchy.

Fantastic video thanks for posting. The dock channel that runs parallel to the river has been filled in temporary to aid construction but does it really have to be re-opened ? It would release a lot more space . After all ,there are river entrances either side of BMD . Just asking like .
Think it was an agreement as part of the planning application, the channels between all the docks would remain

Yes I know it was part of the agreement but my question is whether it's really necessary ?
Connectivity between the dock systems for the passage of water needs to be maintained.

I think it's a great feature and is something else to set us apart from most other stadiums. We've already got the fan Plaza at the Eastern end which is a similar size to the Pier Head so will be used for matchday and non-matchday events. Not sure why anyone would want another great swathe of public realm on the opposite side of the stadium. Particularly given it's not sheltered so for large parts of the year would be unused. That's part of the reason they've gone for the stepped terracing with undercroft, to provide shelter from the elements for fans, players and staff entering the stadium from the West.

Probably no one ever.

But that wasn't 'the question'.

Anyway. Goodison or Goodison Park. The new equivalent will be Bramley Moore (less formal than Bramley Moore Dock).

If it was sponsored by say Emirates (or insert name here), it would officially be called the Emirates like Arsenal's is but I reckon most fans will still say Bramley Moore.

Anyone heard of anything else going up around the stadium yet? I would have thought there would have been a whetherspoons application for somewhere. A new pub? A bar? Anything?

At this rate the Bramley Moore pub is going to be the only pub within a stones throw, not bad when you have 55k worth of people to cater for.
