They say a announcement will be made just before the season starts - wonder how long it will take for the stadium to be built. The council should do all it can to help Everton, as this will help the area and bring employment for some people.

Just hope they do not take ages to get the money in place.

Do we have the required £30M or are we having to use some of the transfer budget.

There was a story tweeted by the Echo earlier on saying that they had heard from an inside source that we have a £30million shortfall in our stadium plans. It also had quotes from a high up member of the shareholders association saying we may need to aim for a lower standard stadium if we don't find the extra money. I was going to put it up on here once I'd made tea, but the tweet has been removed, and the link to the story now takes you to an empty page.

I listened to Alan Brazil this morning on Talksport and he said that he has it on "good authority" that the deal is almost done, with investors for a new stadium from the far east. I just hope his "good Authority" is not Porky Parry or the Moose!
