New Everton Stadium

Referencing BMD in witty songs is hardly proof of anything. I can't say I've heard any. Let's face it "best stadium in the championship" quips where a pretty easy shot.

As regards empty seats at Goodison..... All I said was that I have 4 season tickets and go away to sea, and my kids study away .... I'm also often responsible for several other season tickets of friends/family who can't always go. So, I've often had several spares (and occasionally if I need more I rarely have problems getting them for face value). Over the years, I've regularly been unable to shift them on the official resale site, here or elsewhere (I don't do twitter) so I give them away..... and I've had other empty seats around me from no shows. I wasn't inferring it was like the emptihad.

"Jumps to the defence of any criticism of Anfield/LFC?"..... nonsense! I've openly criticised Anfield and LFC on multiple forums. Even only minutes ago on a stadium forum (where incidentally you'll find several reds singing the praises of BMD). However, to claim that they're all worried by or obsessed with BMD is a nonsense. Some perhaps, but generally they're massively more concerned about several other clubs and various team/player matters than us or BMD.

We've literally nearly just been relegated for the 2nd year running, are an absolute basketcase of a club financially and have been run into the ground for decades. We've gone beyond the traditional (tribal) joke for most of them.

My main reservation regarding BMD have revolved around the funding model..... mainly being that there isn't one! I think those concerns have been more than justified.
Emptyhad? You sound like an internet fan who has never you've never been to game in your life tbh

Yea, it's a weird one.
On the one hand a project like this, given the clubs finances, is absolutely daft.
On the other, it's probably the only thing holding everything together.

As for LFC fans, I agree, most I know (family and friends in Ireland and Liverpool) dont seem bothered at all.
I'll know we're doing well when they stop the patronizing 'I don't mind Everton' crap.
The ones here in Boston (and there are a lot given the ownership) are barely aware of Everton never mind BMD.
I do think the 2028 Euros stung a bit tho!

Crazy that you think 65k would show up every week.

There's this notion that stadiums have to be sold out.

There are ways to reduce the capacity of a stadium so that you don't have lower league style banks of empty seats. Covid showed one of those ways with the huge coverings. The point of a bigger stadium is two fold. One that the current target is no where near enough and two to have the spare capacity should we have big demand games in the future.

More seats doesn't equal a better ground...First prize goes to you for worst post of the day.

More seats doesn't equal worser ground. Do you think if there was another tier on the east and west stands that it would suddenly be like West Ham's stadium or the Emirates?

So can basically move approx 400 passengers around the stadium at any given time.

Amazing how they'll factor in numbers, how many lifts required and where etc. The thought process is mind boggling when working out what 53k people will be doing during/before/after the game
I'm assuming there will be dozens of escalators, too? Do we know how many?

Escalators to go in with the good old fashioned stairs , thin most of the lifts will be for hospitality areas and the riff raft like me get to get some exercise in

Why on earth would the supporters in Ireland and the US be bothered in any case? Liverpool could exist as a franchise for them hopping around the country and they'd be completely unruffled by it.

But there wont be a Liverpool supporter in Liverpool / Merseyside who'll "not be arsed" about this new stadium of ours. Not only is it set to become our new home it's also going to become part of the city's identity. That's because most Scousers care a great deal about their civic architecture - more especially its skyline...and more especially still the iconic buildings on its shoreline - and closely identify with it.

Trust me: this is going to be a massive burden for Kopites in the city to put up with.
