New Everton Stadium

A approximate comparison can be seen with these two images

View attachment 214298the furthest back row in the upper North stand is about halfway to the furthest on the other three sides. Looks slightly more to me, but let's just say half.

On this comparison (the roof trusses are what is being built) half way height on the upper tier of the west stand is still the middle of the top balcony of the goodison main stand.

So, although the north looks small, it towers over most of gp. In the footage of the build at the moment, it's still missing the concrete down to pitch level. That will make it look much bigger
I found these updated images, hope they of some use. It shows more rows on the upper stand.

The North Stand Lower and upper holds a total of 10,550 (which includes away section)

The Park End holds 6k
The Upper and Lower Gwladys Street End holds 10,600

It's not a massive stand by any stretch, but it isn't small either. I like it, I think the glass background will look quite cool
So we was told we were getting a blue wall, the biggest single stand holding the most home fans in the country…. And we’re not?

There's too much whinging going on in here at times, it's going to be incredible, that's all you need to know. It'll be the envy of many. It's a fantastic design, on the banks of the royal blue Mersey, it's unique, and it's boiling the rs p*ss, the end. Unless you wake up tomorrow and it's all been a dream, and we're in fact heading off to kirkby, stop moaning because this stadium is going to be fkn Spectacular.

In what sense and to what extent? As a passing interest or are you professionally qualified?

Reason I ask is that in all I've read about the new stadium, everything suggests that it has been designed to maximise crowd noise and the consultants have carried out extensive acoustic modelling which included the performance/specification for the roof.

There were surveys done of the noise generated at GP and this used as a benchmark for BM.

However, you have suggested multiple times that it will be poor acoustically.
I think the opposite will apply - noise & vibration assessments will have been carried out to ensure sound is dampened to comply with planning requirements.

I think on average the North stand will be much higher than at Brighton's away end. On special occasion even a roofless stand might be noisy, but the configuration isn't ideal with a relatively low number of rows under a very high roof of little to no acoustic catchment.

But they didn't design the North stand to have a specific "acoustic catchment" or at least we weren't told that stand was going to be specific when it came to generating noise.

That stand was designed due to the limited space on that side of the land.

You've said it multiple times with the "well that stands capacity is quite deceiving"....guess what, it's not deceiving at all if that's what it is. No one has said the North Stand holds 15k when it doesn't. No one has said the North stand will be the greatest acoustically sounding stand ever.

It doesn't matter if the Street End has more rows, no one asked if it had more rows, no one asked if the corner was included. The capacity of each stand is their and available for all people to check out.

The capacity and the rake of the Main Stand is not acceptable.
