Goodison Park was the stadium that required the least done to to be fully compliant with the Taylor Report and still yield 40k capacity....

So as usual, the club simply did the bare minimum instead of taking full advantage of the opportunities that GP presented. Other clubs raised there game invested and adapted, while we managed decline while chasing freebies.

I remember the club published some plans in the programme about the new park end being a 2 tier construction, probably late 1993 before skimping and going with the cheap, Meccano construction we ended up with.

We were even more skint then that what we are now.

Today’s mr drone video shows that the first lower tier concrete terracing unit has been added to the north stand lower terracing almost down to pitch level. There are several other units nearby ready to be attached this week too by the looks of it. With those added, we will have a much clearer perspective of the playing surface dimensions being obvious to the eye.
