New Everton Stadium

Do you think the reason Trafalgar isn't being discussed is because Peel already have plans for that area?

I think Bramley-Moore would be great but surely filling in a dock would take a massive amount of work.

My main assumption as to why the Trafalgar dock isn't being discussed is because it is essentially one of the central points of focus for their masterplan, that is just an assumption though. The way I can see Peel looking at this is for the Stadium to mark the start of the new Liverpool and for their development to be the continuation of that with clear zones of Residential leading to Commercial etc. it would be less desirable for them to have these interspersed with a football ground. while we will likely be buying the land off Peel to develop how we see fit, they will only sell at the right price and if the right solution is proposed to benefit them aswell.

That's just under 15 acres, can't remember the exact size of Goodison but think it's around 8?

Ask you a question mate - you mentioned a few posts back that designs (and models in another post i think i read) have been drawn up and put together.

Are these at the stage of speaking to peel to negotiate and say this is what we want to do, or has it now gone past that stage to a more finalised plan to the council?

The footprint would not just be the stadium itself but everything else associated with it...car park, coach park, McDonalds and many other aspects. I don't think it is a case of saying 15 acres is nearly double 8, so we come to an estimate of 70k seats because GP is 40k. I would be surprised if the stadium goes beyond 55k-60k seats unless the pricing model offered enough cheap ticket options to go bigger.

I would say 55-60k would be the golden number, so long as there is ability for expansion moving forward. Based on the ambitious model of Moshiri i would expect he wouldn't want to pen the club into something which couldn't be expanded in the future.

The conversations with Peel have been running sometime mate.

There are some stadium designs and plans but I've no idea whether these are the final chosen designs or just a selection of alternatives.

If Goodison had been developed better and with better techniques, including stands etc and optimum use of the space, you'd get nearly 50k on the same footprint if you include space taken by the church.

Cheers - they are still ongoing then? Suppose thats good news that the plug hasn't been pulled, hopefully this might actually happen.

Would love to see some of the options when all this comes out - the ones that where "accidentally" put on the internet a few months back where pretty nice too.

Lets not forget that a high profile location would probably not allow such an expanse of land to go for a 'single use' facility. Concerts & other events would have to be allowed, I imagine, in order to obtain such a site. The downside of that is that your playing surface is invariably affected by such activities.

My only worry about this part of it is, what would the council say with the echo arena literally just down the road about it being multi use?
