Thinking about the KD site, the original plans involved a sliding pitch so there is obviously plenty of space there. Could LCC's reasoning for supporting this idea be all about the Commonwealth Games - A multi-purpose stadium that can be adapted to host athletics somehow? Its the only reason I can think of that would justify it.
I'd prefer Kings Dock but not at the expense of a top quality football stadium.

It's quite clear that KD is plan B. My gut feeling is that Moshiri isn't a man who has to use plan B often.
