Hope they put some tropical fish in it, or an octopus. Something to keep us entertained when we've all walked out with 30 minutes to go as we're getting stuffed by Dagenham in the Leyland Daf Trophy.

I'd prefer piranha and then when Everton inevitably turn in yet another terrible performance the fans vote which of the team gets chucked in the dock.

That should sharpen them up. Got to like these performance related contracts

If you tipped into the Mersey you might be in bother, but that new channel is going to be shallower than a swimming pool.

North West part of the channel you mean? Yeah it is a head scratcher. They must be able to dig the remaining out whilst it is filling up with water. All logic would tell you it would have been better to dig out it all, except a small bank right at the mouth just to hold it back. Be interesting to see how they finish it.
