Not sure what people are expecting, it looks like it fits in well with its surroundings and historical context. A brick facade was almost a certainty and you won't find many tall buildings like this not utilising cladding over actual bricks.

It was the installation adjacent to the walk way I meant, as it appeared to be unique to that area. Having had another look at other vids, I think in hindsight it might be the cabling for the solar array.
Looks like a huge improvement on what’s there already, renovating the adjacent building is great too. I like that the new part of the hotel echo’s BMD with the long narrow windows and colour matched brickwork.How can you tell from a crappy artists sketch?

Also has a swimming pool. So, no.. not cheapWhat is cheap about it? They're regenerating a Grade 2 listed building alongside a derelict piece of brownfield land. It will be far from cheap.
