New Everton Stadium

Zero chance the council let us fill in Nelson Dock and build pitches etc. The maximum TFG could do would be build hotels and restaurants around it, close to what is planned already.

All this news of stadium expansion (of any significance) is a bit fanciful at the moment.

Buying up land around stadia and developing it into mixed-use "entertainment zones" with shops and restaurants is all the rage in the States right now. Every team owner is trying to figure out how to do it over here, including the RS owners, who are managing to do it even though the ballpark they own already sits smack dab in the middle of a densely developed city:

Knowing American sports owners the way I do, I have zero doubt that, while TFG is probably thinking of some stadium expansion, they primarily view Nelson dock as a real estate opportunity.

Yes, my point isn't that I want our stadium to be like West Ham. It's that a team went from getting 28,000 to 62,000. We could easily go from 40,000 to 60,000. Anyone who thinks we couldn't, have had that fear drummed into them by Kenwright.
We will struggle to fill the new ground after 5-10 years so we won’t need to worry about increasing capacity for a while.
P.s I have called Kenwright out from day one so never took a word he said seriously.

latest video confirms that the blue lighting will be calibrated for coverage and angle, so i suspect it will end up being a blue hue under the barrel rather than the current spots of blue.

Does that mean that the sub 100 IQ dullards who were quick out of the blocks to say “I don’t like the lighting” are perhaps a bit early to judge?

Bloody hope so. The ‘current’ spot light look cheapens what is a wonderful looking stadium.

Was hoping that was temporary, which looks like it is

West Ham get 65,000 every home game. If we want to become the best team in the land, we have to think big. I really hope these new owners aren't as timid as Bill was all those years.
West Ham sell tickets in Leicester Square to tourists who couldn’t get into Matilda.

It’s easy for any London Premier League side to do that kind of thing, and not something that can be replicated elsewhere.

Bit dark this.
I'm gonna put a more optimistic slant and suggest that today's match goers attend irrespective of results. Let's face it we've been selling out for years now with very little likelihood of winning anything. The new ground with its new location will fit in nicely with the matchday experience becoming a more social occasion.

You know most hammers fans really don’t like their stadium, the pitch is quite a distance from the stands as it’s an Olympic athletics stadium meaning there is an impact on the atmosphere.

Also it’s a real ball ache to get too also if I remember it’s a 15-20 minute walk to the tube station.

Bigger but crappier ground to watch football

What's this meant to be?

The previous post was that West Ham get 65,000 a game.

It wasn't about whether they like the stadium or not or whether they can get to it from a tube station. Blimey.

When ever someone dares to have the forthright view of a bigger capacity someone shoots them down.
