New Everton Stadium

If the club didn't think that the docks was feasible, I'm sure they would be leaking stories about the difficulties to the media, in order to lower fans expectations. They know there is huge excitement about the docks site and there will be massive disappointment if it's suddenly announced we are moving to SC.

If SC is one the card we need to jib it, can't rush this, rather stay at Goodison for a few more years and get a decent location rather then go somewhere quick just to help Andersen.

"This is fantastic and a cause for much optimism"
"We got Koeman which was a great coup."
"We got Walsh. Another coup."
That's the negativity you're referring to? I'm making it clear that the Moshiri revolution is great for us and I applaud and welcome it but I'm simply trying to apply a realistic dimension to the unrealistic hyper positive perspective. I also do the same in regards to the negative version. I also acknowledge that a new board member may well be appointed in future but I'm now confident that it won't be David Dein as that doesn't seem to be the 'level' this very welcome club overhaul is finding.
I Read it like "We're aiming for world class/big names but having to settle for very very good instead" basically and I agree

Before today I was thinking how the mood on this thread and a move from Goodson seemed positive compared to say a year ago. I think I jinxed it! One thing, it's going to be an interesting discussion until something is announced (I mean that in a good way).

Would we take a man city setup but in sc? Really interesting points! Good reading

For me mate, whatever else Moshiri does, he will be judged on this one issue ultimately, he goes for SC - then sorry but he could throw money at the team all he wants - ultimately the bricks and mortar which will stand long after all the players are long gone would remain, and if he wants his legacy to be the bloke who moves us out of our spiritual home into the arse end of nowhere then he will go the SC route, IF he truly wants to be the man to take this club back to greatness - don't do it by doing effectively a DK Version2

Exactly this. He can't be so naive to think the majority of the fanbase would go for SC. If you put the two options together, how many fans would we lose/gain depending on the result either way? The only way to get to SC for a large percentage would be car. You would either need a massive car park or leave your car in Crocky. Yeah ok

You couldn't build a stadium in two years on the docks, make of that what you will.

OK it isn't a dock site but the Allianz with a 78k capacity was built in 2.5 years (Oct. 2002 - May 2005). And I think (I hope) that Joe Anderson's visit to London is just smoke and mirrors - invite him down for a chat, listen to what he says then tell him that SC is all very well but that it doesn't fit into the plans that Mosh has and which involves the Dock site. Joe then comes home fully imbued by what Moshie has told him, tells everybody that the meeting has gone well and that he has fought the Council's corner but that when the big announcement is made he can say hand on heart that he tried his best to direct the club to SC but it just wasn't to be.

Joe Anderson's visit to London has got absolutely naff all to do with Everton, he's running for Metro Mayor right now and will no doubt be seeking out some big name backing in the Labour Party.

If its SC then I honestly believe that even if it was a 50,000 or 55,000 capacity within in 10 years we would be getting lower crowds than at Goodison.
Moshiri seems to be building us into something special but SC would be the death of the future fanbase. A hundred times worse than Kirby would ever had been.

If its not the Docks I don't see the reason why to rush the move. With the TV deals and a rich owner now being at Goodison is no longer the disadvantage it was of last decade.

Docks - gotta be the docks - Moshiri's legacy. It would encourage us to keep the ball on the deck too, cos else we'd lose a lot of match balls into the river.

Just on this point mate, Dein was instrumental in introducing and encouraging the Moshiri/Kenwright relationship, and has been working on the club's behalf since, informally but on key matters. I wouldn't dismiss his future formal involvement.
David Dein is over 70 years old, surely his involvement would be informal rather than taking ups paid executive role at the club?

My bad! I thought all the media reports said summit about meeting with Moshiri and Kenwright. I didn't realise they were both card carrying Labour supporters.
