It’s not a bowl. It’s got 4 sides ffs.8000 pages from a dream to virtual completion.
A beautiful full circle.
Who would have thought 8000 pages back that this guess was bang on the moneyThe North dock area would be smart, if we're dreaming like.
The best part of Goodison, IMHO, is how it rises from the streets - it well and truly is the People's Club in that regard. Don't think this could ever be replicated in a new location.
Definitely going to walk that route from the city centre to BMD next week when I'm in Liverpool. In reality it's walkable if you're relatively fit, if elderly or have an impairment you're not walking that distance especially when you add in the weather. I walk that route a lot and I think a few are in for a rude awakening.
The shuttle bus is inadequate on its own. We have buses to Goodison now.
The blurb from the club is lip service, if you know the area you'll know it's extremely disconnected from public transport.
Make sure you have a good piss before you head off and come back to town.Definitely going to walk that route from the city centre to BMD next week when I'm in Liverpool.
Bramley Moore Pub is also on the to do list. So I'll probably have a few.Make sure you have a good piss before you head off and come back to town.
I’m not sure it matters what it looks like when it’s empty. It’s the atmosphere that it generates which is most important.I think the interior looks somewhat underwhelming at first because it’s predominantly 2 tiers. Whereas a most large/modern stadia have 3 or 4 tiers (like Spurs stadium, Wembley, Emirates etc).
Although the West and East stands are the same height (and both technically 2 tiers ) if you just focus on the central section then then West stand seems bigger because it’s in 3 or even 4 sections rather than 2. It’s hard to grasp the scale of 2 larger tiers rather than 3 or 4 moderately sized ones.
When fans are in it’ll look and sound great imo but pictures don’t necessarily do it justice.

Yes, that's a very good point. Another few years wait for me I think and perhaps with much better seats available for general sale the season ticket is not so important at BMD. Getting close to the top of the waitlist though.I think there is approximately a 3k increase in corporate season tkts too.... so I think the total will be nearer 38-39k at BMD.
tbh mate, the walk to goodison form Lime Street is fine, 2 1/4 miles, so not too far, pretty easy route along St Annes Street gets you almost there and only take about 15 minutes longer to walk than waiting and getting on the bus. Looking at BMD< it will be slightly shorter walk.I'll leave the locals to argue the toss over the transport links, but from the tourist perspective - I'm Irish - the new stadium is much more conveniently located than Goodison is. It's a 20-minute walk on a decent day. Getting to Goodison, by comparison, always struck me as being reminiscent of taking the Night Bus in Harry Potter: "Take her away, Vern", with no guarantee you'd get on or that it would reach its destination. The last one I took broke down. In truth, all joking aside, people not familiar with the area wouldn't really countenance walking to or from Goodison for fear of getting lost. That won't be an issue at the Dock. The worse that could happen would be we'd end up in the Mersey. And that's on the way to Ireland, anyway. Silver linings.
Those of able-body will be delighted to walk from the city in any kind of reasonable weather.
I don't disagree - but it's not a walk that people unfamiliar with the city would be properly aware of. You can't really miss the new gaff - it's a landmark all of its own. And, without offending anybody, the surroundings on the way are a lot more salubrious.tbh mate, the walk to goodison form Lime Street is fine, 2 1/4 miles, so not too far, pretty easy route along St Annes Street gets you almost there and only take about 15 minutes longer to walk than waiting and getting on the bus. Oh Lord, Neville has given us an unwanted (but amusing) gift for the new stadium...
