New Everton Stadium

The station at Vauxhall makes clear sense.

Baltic market is thriving and they got one. Why not build one there in an area that's going to thrive with an investment like that?

All the apartments, hotels restaurants etc would excel with this yet our metro mayor thinks that's the most economically beneficial area to do one?

Used to crowd into those green and creams
True but public transport was 10 times better then and far cheaper in real terms. Until 1986 (and Tory deregulation of the buses) there were buses lined up at various points around the ground to take people back to all parts of the city. We need that again on a match day.

Public transport already is far better and cheaper in most European countries, so clubs abroad don't have the headaches getting fans there and home again we might. IF (being the operative word) plans are not put into place to make provision for people to use public transport then I for one will be happy. Regardless of how long it might take to walk from wherever to get to the new stadium, why should anyone be forced to walk for miles?

Just wondering in the new stadium will there be any bars and restaurants on the outside of the complex for the casual match goer or for people who are not/cannot go to the game rather than one you have to buy a membership for

To the best of my knowledge, the club has not said that you will have to show a match ticket to get past the dock wall, but I suspect strongly that will be the case. I might be wrong.

In reality it's walkable if you're relatively fit, if elderly or have an impairment you're not walking that distance especially when you add in the weather. I walk that route a lot and I think a few are in for a rude awakening.

The shuttle bus is inadequate on its own. We have buses to Goodison now.

The blurb from the club is lip service, if you know the area you'll know it's extremely disconnected from public transport.
Loads of people will be fine walking it. Just because it won't be for everybody, doesn't mean it's not a viable option for loads of people. Extremely disconnected from public transport? Not really. Sandhills is the same distance as Kirkdale is to Goodison and Great Howard Street etc already has provisions for buses. Services have used that route in/out of town before.

The buses are coming back under public control for the Liverpool City Region soon Doc, it was announced a while ago. Was also told by a bus driver I know recently that a Livery change for Arriva is expected soon as it's no longer gonna be operated by Arriva, he's even been given an orange high vis vest as his yellow one will clash with the livery apparently. I was pushed for time when I bumped in to him so never pressed for an exact date but I got the impression it's fairly imminent.

@Dr Baxter

The rebrand is part of wide-ranging plans to connect rail, bus, ferry, tunnels and active travel options across the six local authority areas and is the latest in a series of moves to change public transport in the region.

In October 2023, the decision to bring buses back into public control was formally ratified and in the last 18 months, a £500m fleet of new trains have taken to the Merseyrail network.

A new £80m Headbolt Lane station was also opened in Kirkby, while a £100m station is due to to open at Liverpool Baltic in 2027.

A Bus Rapid Transport connection linking the city centre with Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Anfield and Bramley-Moore Dock could also be in place by 2028.

The next phase of smart ticketing is also expected to roll out by March 2025, including changes to fare and concession options.

2028? We're moving next year. We need concrete plans to move thousands to be announced in the near future. I hope they are forthcoming.

Not entirely sure what "A Bus Rapid Transport connection" means, but guess any solutions until then will just be regular bus services with tweaked routes and the plans for direct services from the strand and town.
