New Everton Stadium

Strange, I was in the front row TB on Sunday.... don't remember feeling a drop, even when it went wild, certainly didn't get soaked. My son was in our normal seats Park End row P didn't either. Several predicted this when the first cross sections were revealed. No reason to get over anything.
Front row of Upper Bullens the rain was blowing in, not heavy but could definitely feel it. Maybe depends on wind direction.

Yes, Sunday was very stormy, with high winds swirling and a particularly heavy downpour. I'm sure plenty felt a few drops and some down the front few rows got a soaking. However, the point being made is that, this is a modern stadium and there should be far better weather protection than people 15 rows plus back getting a proper soaking, when it rains normally. The roof line should've been extended to at least the goal/touch-lines, and ideally much further. This would also be beneficial for atmosphere. Hopefully, because some corporate areas will be affected, the club may have to address it at some point, as happened at Bilbao.

Wide open terraces with no roof at away games, those were the days

Indeed, paying £1 or less to stand in the rain for a couple of hours wasn't great (that's why everyone crammed under the upper Gwladys when it poured at GP, before the roof was extended). Paying £60+ to sit in it (far more if you're paying for corporate) will feel much less so.... Progress?

If you're going for a pint first let us know and we can have a GOT get together
I'll probably be down at Goodison very early. Want to have a last walk around the stadium and have plenty of time to soak it all in. Will also have to collect my ticket and probably going to meet up with a London Evertonian I've known for many years. But there should be time for a pint with you good sir. Will have a few after the game also. So let me know time and place.

In reality, we need to wait until we're in the ground to see how good or bad the roof is, because a) most haven't been in yet, and b) the weather has been extreme.

With the location of the stadium, the weather will always be a potential issue.

With the height of the roof, which is needed for the number of seats and steepness, you're always going to get a % of the front rows being liable to the weather.

For that reason alone, I'll be sitting further back.
What you gonna do when it rains outside the ground pal?
