New Everton Stadium

Its a bit further out than what a lot of people may think. My only concern location wise is if nothing else gets built between there and princes dock it could well look isolated and not part of the expanding city centre. Its a good walk from town too. A good 30-35 minutes and not the 10 minutes many seem to think.
That's true, however I'd expect that the announcement of the stadium will be a catalyst for the starting of the greater Liverpool Waters project.

There'll be a real need for food and drink establishments so investors will see a reason to release their cash; with that comes desirable housing.

Therefore the stadium should not be reliant on the city centre, yet rather will become a desirable location within a fair proximity of the CBD.

With suitable buses put on, Sandhill train station nearby and a walking distance which isn't bad at all I think it will be a great location.

Imagine we signed a new stadium on deadline day.

Had that thought a whilst back.

Positives, could steal all the headlines as its a major deal, could also see us roll in signings on top to become the big story of the day.

Negatives, story could end up getting buried with the shy transfers obsession . Could be used by the club to mask a lack of any deals happening.

Who cares though if its finally happening.

There's been talk for a long time of building a new station between Moorfields and Sandhills. This might just make it happen. Talking of public transport, the Rotunda where buses heading north (Kirkdale, Bootle, Litherland, Crosby, Netherton etc) and those heading north east (Walton, Aintree, Old Roan) meet, is less than a mile away. A shuttle bus service there for the dozens of bus routes that come in and out of the city centre that way would be ideal.

You're correct, its still a great location and its miles better than Stonesbridge Cross of course which would have killed the club in the same way Kirkby would have done but it's far from being just a short walk round the corner to the city centre pubs, bars and shops which will disapoint some - Far enough up the dockside to keep us off that fabled waterfront postcard too - unless that postcard has so much of a wider further-away view of the whole waterfront that the three graces would be pretty small.

And it IS in Liverpool not Sefton to answer an earlier question.

No mate, it's definitely a half hour walk to the pier head. Not a problem to my mind, first 10 minutes you're buzzing from the match then you're nearly in town, and I'm pretty confident it would form part of a larger development project. Half hour walk to and from a stadium from a city centre is no problem. I walk into town from Goodison now, that's way longer.

Maybe I'm just a fast walker lol

No, it's still Liverpool CC at that point.

It's about as far out as the far end of Great Homer Street; about where they rebuilt Notre Dame or as I said where the Rotunda is at the end of Scotland Road. I'd say at least a mile, or maybe a mile and a half closer to town than Goodison's location.
