Four pints in the Ship & Mitre, then a nice brisk 20 minute walk to the stadium, partially sobering up along the way. Sorted!A mile and a half and those lazy slobs want transport, pfft
The Ship & Mitre is already packed before the games at Goodison, it would have to expand rapidly if that was the case.Four pints in the Ship & Mitre, then a nice brisk 20 minute walk to the stadium, partially sobering up along the way. Sorted!

Not being a regular I can't comment on a 'typical' matchday experience in the Ship & Mitre, but I've been about four times in past 2 years and it's been alright each time! Quick service, space to stand, even a seat if you're lucky. The Ship & Mitre is already packed before the games at Goodison, it would have to expand rapidly if that was the case.
That actually brings up a point, which although quite selfish, I've considered a few times with regards to a dockland stadium.
I, like many others, enjoy a few pints before the game and endeavour to get as much time in the pub chatting with friends as I can possibly get.
That often means leaving about 14.40 to get to the ground for ten minutes before hand. Unfortunately there's not many boozers around the area.
So, unless they create ample new bars within close proximity most people will probably head towards town before hand for a few drinks.
That could cause a bit of a rush and congestion as people will try to maximise as much time socialising before hand as possible.
The thought of getting into the ground with ages to spare just gives me the shivers. Still, a new stadium will be fantastic!
There's enough pubs in and around Dale Street to suit the needs of many a fan including the Ship, Rigby's, Lady of Man, Railway, Ma Boyles etc.The Ship & Mitre is already packed before the games at Goodison, it would have to expand rapidly if that was the case.
Cracking pub, like it big time, it's rammed before home games now though, Excelsior next door too. Trade will be booming for them if this comes off. I'm an arl arse and will find something out the way and quiet. Not being a regular I can't comment on a 'typical' matchday experience in the Ship & Mitre, but I've been about four times in past 2 years and it's been alright each time! I honestly reckon you're under estimating how rammed they will be, they are dead busy now, that stadium there will make it even more so.There's enough pubs in and around Dale Street to suit the needs of many a fan including the Ship, Rigby's, Lady of Man, Railway, Ma Boyles etc.
If the Lion reopens then I'm sure everyone will be able to find a nice place to drink before wandering for a pint in some fancy wine bar nearby.

That or get into a partnership with a brand such as Wetherspoons to make sure there's establishments in close proximity and suit fans needs.Sure new bars will spring up nearby, but if Everton have any sense they will make the concourses attractive enough and service easy enough for people to get served easily and with quality food and drink, with the lunchtime kick off on big screens, thus taking in some of the custom away from bars and increasing match day revenue consistently. They will shoot themselves in the foot charging £4.50 for warm Chang
Can you see the "Shanghai Tower" or "King Edward Tower" ever getting built ?There are already plans for more investment and planning applications are being prepared currently with regards to a number of large developments on the waterfront. There has never been more interest in the waterfront location. The new stadium will be the beginning of the city's new age and the catalyst for the city to be dragged forward past this millennium. Everton will forever be seen as the start of a new age for the city of Liverpool.
Could put a special row of seats at the top of the tower, slightly angled like the vertical drop rollercoaster in Alton Towers, to offer maximum viewing pleasure. Only danger is the fans may be hit by one of Jags' punts. Can you see the "Shanghai Tower" or "King Edward Tower" ever getting built ?
Would look fantastic just down from a brand new stadium .
