New Everton Stadium

What this thread shows is that the FSF still needs to do a much better job of getting the correct information about Rail seating out there.

It's nobodies fault really, when people hear the term standing with regards to football people recoil in fear (especially in this city)

It's a totally different concept and is much safer than the current situation of cutting your leg to ribbons when you stand in a seating area.

A conversion!?!? Extra money?

It's two bolts that lock to keep the rail seat down mate. Takes 5 seconds for each seat.

The sooner it's referred to as "rail seating" the better. Would instantly change the perception most people have

Good to know. I thought they had to haul seats out of storage somewhere and bolt them in place. Cheers.

This notion that we would struggle to fill a new stadium with a capacity of 60,000 because we don't fill Goodison every week is very misleading indeed. According to the club's own data, over a quarter of the seats at Goodison have an obstructed view! I wouldn't expect any club in world football to fill such a stadium every week. Who wants to fork out £40 to sit behind a post? In our new stadium, none of the seats will have an even remotely obstructed view.

When Arsenal played at Highbury they almost never had capacity attendances and Highbury only held 39,000 people. Conversely, the Emirates, a stadium with a capacity of 60,000, is almost always full. Fans are much more likely to fork out for a ticket at a state-of-the-art stadium than at a stadium that is riddled with obstructed views.

As we have already established, Arsenal's stadium holds 60,000. However, West Ham's stadium also has a capacity of 60,000, while Spurs' new stadium (set to be opened just two years from now) will have an even larger capacity than that. What's more, Chelsea, Man City and Sunderland all have plans to increase the capacities of their respective stadia to well in excess of 60,000. And Old Trafford already holds 75,000 fans. As such, if we build a stadium of just 55,000 seats, I think we will end up being somewhat prone to stadium envy!

I'm prepared to give more time.

I feel unrest with him is premature at this stage. If, after he has been the club's 'owner'* for a year or two, we have not progressed then it'll be fair game. But I reckon a bit of patience is in order at the mo.

*ie. >49.9%

Unrest at this stage would be nothing short of stupidity. Having said that, reading the Transfer thread this summer (and the Walsh/Moshiri threads after the window closed), nothing would surprise me. Stupidity is rife in the Everton fanbase it seems.

''We didn't want a new stadium because we are family, and we love Goodison''
Moshiri 2018

We are gonna have to get used to standing at the game whether we like it or not when Mosh sells Goodison and we play our matches on a ploughed field in Ormskirk.

You two are actually going to post your negative tirades in every thread aren't you?
You have thoughts about what's happening at our club but, look at the 2 quotes and work out how that would alienate a section of supporters,
who like me, are sort of happy with the fair amount of progression so far but, also want to see more i.e. professionalism in the transfer market etc.
'Ploughed fields' and that kind of crap is nonsense.
I guess nothing will ever be right in your utopia but, at least stop being condescending and let other fans have their point of view.

Standing in stadiums is a bit of a 'touchy' subject (as we all know).
The best night of my life (apart from getting married...sshhh not really) started in the Street End watching us against Bayern.
Think I had about 4 + different viewing spots because of the surges. It was so much better than when there was a bit of a tight squeeze in the paddock against 'some team, can't even remember who'.
For me, standing was about the ebb and flow of the game and if you sanitise it, then what's the point?

The Hillsborough families are opposed to terracing making a return and for that reason neither Liverpool or Everton will touch the idea with a barge pole.

60,000 in my view is a must
