New Everton Stadium

\

Celtic Park have opened a new Standing Section this season.

No premier league teams with it yet though

David gold and the Tory's at WHU have alluded to this via social media.

Hopefully they can get ball rolling with safe standing and get it going in most grounds in uk.

Celtic FC and Ferco Seating made history on Thursday as the installation of the first safe standing seating system (RailSeat) in the UK got underway at Celtic Park. An area of the stadium will feature standing on the terraces for the 2016 – 17 season.

With Celtic pushing for this for over 6 years and Ferco supporting both them and the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) for more than 5 years, all eyes will now be on the EPL for their reaction.

Developed in response to fans’ demands for a return to standing sections at football matches, the RailSeat is an innovation in stadium seating, enabling spectators to stand safely to watch matches, whilst having the option to revert to seating when regulations require it.

With its design based on barrier technology and its robust seat and high back, the RailSeat forms a strong and continuous handrail to facilitate safe standing. Slim-line and compact, this unique stadium seat has been approved for use by both UEFA and FIFA for Champions League and World Cup matches.

Jon Darch, Chairman of the FSF, has visited numerous UK clubs with the Safe Standing Roadshow, demonstrating the benefits of standing safely at matches for both clubs and supporters alike.

Although widely used in Germany’s Bundesliga as standing accommodation for domestic matches, this is the first time RailSeats have been installed commercially in the UK.

The 3,000 seat installation comes after Celtic were able to convince their local Safety Advisory Group and the authorities that these seats provided a safer environment for their fans.

The introduction of RailSeats, which comply with UEFA and FIFA requirements, is an investment in spectator safety by Celtic FC and an historic event for Shrewsbury based Ferco Seating Systems.

these days, more people packing into the ground means more parking woes outside - this should be considered.
Back in the day, everyone got the bus/tram or just legged it:

The longer this goes with no official announcement the more I feel suspicious.

The club were very quick to down play the mayors positive spin. People are also claiming it's very well advanced. So why no announcements?

It all smells like a usual everton propaganda job. We will drag it out for ages and then cry victim and that we were so unlucky and tried oh so very hard to make the docks work. But alas we just couldn't make it work. Through no fault of the club tho.

And then bang we will be at stonebridge cross.

It makes no sense to announce it before it's a sealed deal.

If they announced it with work still to do to secure the project, can you imagine the fume directed at them if it failed - again?

Unfortunately you may well be right.
Stonebridge would be an acceptable choice except for the nightmare of trying to get home afterwards. These "easy access for the motorway" grounds are all difficult to get away from - try getting away from Bolton or Reading with crowds of less than 20,000, for example.
It's also what made Kirkby a non-starter.
