New manager

I don't think he is up to doing a large rebuilding job anymore, not the one needed here. Its a very different club now to the one he knew previously and he would never have the free reign he had under Kenwright and he notoriously doesn't like working under DoF/Sporting Directors which TFG will always have due to the backseat driving that they seem to prefer in terms of running things. Also I don't see Thewell and Moyes being a great combination either tbh, I have serious concerns with Thelwell tbh. Just time for a fresh perspective imo, something we haven't had before.

I think we are caught between competing needs of survival/stabilisation and progress if im honest. There are also other variables like availability without compo, working knowledge, experience of our current position etc. He just ticks an awful lot of logical boxes if i was TFG and i was protecting a £600 mill pound investment.

Football investment in generally about a 10 year minimum, financial investment before looking for a return, could TFG look at the first 18 months of this investment cycle being stabilisation - i think they could.

Honestly when i weigh everything up i find it hard logically for it not to be Moyes. Id personally be surprised.

Not discounting the points you made mate, just a different lense.

Everyone says Mourinho is past his best but i think Spurs is the only place he didnt win a trophy. The last big job he had was United where he won 2 trophies. Spurs , Roma and Fenerbache wouldnt be classed as big jobs. People had wrote Carlo off too when he came to us.

We're in no position to turn our noses up at Mourinho. My God, we should be down on our knees at the prospect of being managed by a true great.

Had we these owners and stadium when Carlo was here, we'd be in clover.

If we can get Mourinho, we'd be nuts not to go along for the ride and demand that the Friedkins learn from their mistakes with him at Roma.

I can see it now tbh, Mourinho leading us out in the new stadium, first league game of the season. That mischievous glint in his eye, the grey hair, the long black coat. Revamped Everton squad behind him raring to go.
A quick handshake with the Wycombe Wanderers manager and off we go.

Knowing our luck our first game in the Championship would be against Man City.
