Boring football is fine if he gets results. It’s the boring football without results that’s a problemHard to tell how Mourinho's doing in Turkey.
He's in second place with 39 points in 17 games, but last season under the previous manager they were second with 99 points from 38 games. So actually that's down from 2.6 PPG to 2.3 PPG (From 99 points down to 87 points across a full season).
They are 21st out of 36 teams in the Europa League, whereas last season they got to the quarter finals of that competition before losing on penalties.
A very quick google suggests the fans are saying the football is boring and the club is a bit unhappy. Though he is decent at mid-game changes. Any Turkish posters here to corroborate?
I just think that’s a really simplistic way of looking at things to be honest. I’ve said the same thing a million times on here, it’s funny how these winners are only winners when they have the squads to do it isn’t it? Mourinho won loads with Chelsea and Real Madrid but less with spurs and Roma, how weird when the deciding factor is supposedly his mentality rather than the quality of player he has at his disposal, it must just be a weird quirk of fate.I hate that we have become used to not winning. Its accepted! How do we create a winning mentally? It starts at the top. Winners breed the mentally required. Dyche, all credit to him for the job he's done, but he will never be a winner.
Mourinho is a marmite manager, some love him and some hate him, but it can't be denied that he is a winner. He might be in backwater league right now, but he is winning there too. Can we do better? It's not like we have a queue of top class managers lining up to manage Everton. Realistically beggers can't be choosers, and if Mourinho wanted to come to us, he'd be a massive upgrade, not just on Dyche, but our last few managers.
He got more out of some of the players some of the time, it certainly wasn’t a constant thing.Yes we fell away didn't we, but I think we got higher points. I think we fell away as he could see PSR coming and RM coming too.
The wider point is though, that there's not 1 fixed away to do things. And until we know what TFG are trying to do, it's a bit difficult to say who would or wouldn't fit.
Also Ancelotti was a bad fit IMO, but he got a lot more out of the players.
Yeah, but apart from that....lol we are still discussing Mourinho here? Some rabid speculation and everyone forgets that TFG Literally fired him less than a year ago, and he called them horrible things. And hes employed by another team.
Meek, timid, too nice Everton would deffo be a thing of the past with Jose.I want Jose. I’ve always wanted Jose.
His relationship with TFG complicates things. He said they “know little about football” when he left Roma.
He doesn’t want to be in Turkey, he’s constantly calling the league “toxic” and “corrupt” and has already said he wants to be back in England.
Him calling the Reds all sorts in the build up to a Derby win would be superb and you know it
From our dreamsWhere has all the Mourinho chat come from?
is the thinking that he binns off Turkey mid season for a relegation threatened Everton?
or is it someone like Carsley till the Summer then him?
He would need to be in today reallySaid it before, Mourinho would be the perfect pill for this club if we are aiming to win some silverware anytime soon. He'd get us some sort of trophy. Just need him to come in before this weekend so that there is that possibility within the season.
I think they're just putting out rumours of Dyche being under scrutiny to keep the fans at bay, in the hope that he'll eventually win a game and let them kick the can down the road.
If they were interested in salvaging the season, they'd have come in guns blazing.
Mourinho would not be my choice I think his ship has sailed, but I wouldn't be unhappy if he came
I just want this pillock gone. 1st choice would be Brentfords boss.
Football today hardly has those top class players. Everyone is a well coached pawn, you just need a squad full of them.Mourinho needs top class players to be a force win things, we can not afford top class players, or won't be able to with psr. We need a kind of manager who makes players better, hopefully younger players.
Just a bit worried that our American friends might want a knight to manage,?bloody hope not though but we know it would be attractive to them.
Make it happenI'll be there with popcorn at the ready...
