New manager

I would like Frank but he is not leaving half way through a season. I think Potter would progress us but we would need a few players. People forget when he went in at Brighton they were lumping balls forward and he transitioned them to what they are now. If Moyes would take it for six months I get they would do that.

Terzic has a reputation here in Germany for tactical naivety.
Are naive tactics better than zero tactics? I have no idea any more. Don’t know him at all.

I just don’t want anyone that hasn’t at least semi-successfully managed in club football over the last 24 months. So the Carsley/Potter type shouts are terrifying.

Timing could not be worse in terms of picking a managerial style. Gritty safety merchant versus modern sexy wizard. One could relegate us this season, the other could ruin next seasons rebirth.

Indeed but Leicester and Forest (and most other clubs) have actual functioning squads. Multiple players for each position, youngsters looking to step up etc. We have a bunch of loanees and retirees and 3 strikers all with the same traits. It's grim.
but the point is that those squads were not functioning when they also flirted with relegation, the following year they were markedly different.

or very predictable tactics. We get a corner, let's 'whack it to the back post, Tarks will head it back from there and we'll see what happens from there', is our only attacking tactic all season. its not worked for months but we still persist with it.

Moyes has said he doesn’t want his next job to be a relegation candidate. I don’t want Moyes and I’d be even more hesitant considering him now. He must know Everton are one of the more likely places he could end up this season and he’s come out in January and said he doesn’t want to come to a club in a situation like ours, there must be a reason for that, maybe he doesn’t feel like he’d be able to do it.

If someone says in public they don’t want a particular job and someone hires them to do exactly that job a few weeks later, I’d think the company hiring them would be making a mistake.

Didn't work with him last time and he's not exactly doing wonders at Coventry.

I disagree personally, I think most of them are rubbish and are not capable of anything. We don't have the legs to press nor the full backs tom overlap and make runs. We struggle to do basics and if we are short of even one or two players like we are right now we struggle even more.

I agree our set plays have gone worse and I am sick of commentators banging on about them as if we are good at them, we are not.

I think what I am saying is we can have both a bad manager and rubbish players. I'm not convinced anyone coming in changes that for the rest of the season.
You don’t think there’s any other manager that can get more out of this group of players than Dyche currently is? Disagree totally with that. I’m not saying a new manager can come in, wave a magic wand and suddenly get us free scoring and flying up the league. But the squad here is definitely capable of a lot more than this manager is getting out of them.

Any new manager can’t be removed from the football director question and what are the targets for January transfers. So maybe the sexy wizard is a good choice if we’re getting good players.

I’d honestly just give Moyes a 2.5 year deal if he’d have us. Proper amount of time to reset and have us playing what some might actually consider football. Then take a big swing with the next one. We need to be unplugged and plugged back in.

What is honestly worse than what we’ve seen this year? Naive tactics would win 2 games rather than 3? A fresh viewpoint is needed. If it’s worse, then it’s worse. But this isn’t sustainable

When we have tried any variation in set piece it looks like it has been choreographed by a kids' team coach (parent volunteer). Dyche likes his tried and trusted, come what may.

Perhaps he is suggesting that he sees Everton as a club that should be top half and he believes they should be nowhere near relegation places.
