Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Weird how every no mark club always tries to start a rilvary with us.

Southampton over Koeman
Swansea over Siggurdsson
West Ham over every transfer rumour
Watford for obvious reasons
Bit of guilt on both sides I'd say. Whenever there's some betting site remarking on our away fans, some of your lot are always in the comments stating how you'd take more, or mentioning the attendance of a different game. Unsurprisingly when this takeover was reported, plenty of your fellow Evertonians were in the comments for that.

Wouldn't worry about it.

Curious which are the 6-8? Old Trafford, Etihad, Emirates, Anfield, White Hart Lane... Oh, the London stadium? We're only a few thousand behind the Etihad, Anfield and we've an actual football stadium, instead of whatever the hell the London Stadium is. In terms of modernising the stadium we could do with it. Ashley replaced the big screens on the concourse with diddy little 32" screens. I'd like to see the refreshment areas updated, those pint pumps that fill the glass from the bottom? Love a bit of wizardy like that.

There'll be considered approach to the investment into the club I'm sure. But the increase in commerical revenue won't be insignificant. Under Ashley ours has stagnated. Where once we were on a comparable level to Spurs, we're now way behind. I'd not be shocked to see a PIF backed shirt sponsorship deal. We'd certainly get more for stadium advertising than the paultry £2m we recently got from Ashley's Sports Direct. They could even sponsor the stadium. That's one area where I'd expect to see real growth.

Honestly, and I'm talking in terms of facilities here as well, St Mary's, Stadium of Light, Derby are all much better. In terms of atmosphere and traditions less so, but in just in terms of the facilities they are (from when I've been to them anyway). We have a similar problem with Goodison, great old ground with tradition, but ultimately not a patch on the newer stadiums that have been built.

As for the 2nd part, you will be surprised how pinikety the league are. I think you should be allowed to be sponsored for what you want, and should be allowed to spend what you like, but you would be amazed how snippy fans from United, Liverpool (particularly them), Arsenal etc will become. They will make it seem like you are equivalent of drugs cheats because you gain sponsorship (or course omitting the fact that they have been gaining the same unfair advantage for decades with massive sponsorships).

Remember that guy getting a giant Andy Cole tattooed on his leg days before he went to Manchester United?
Aye he was devastated. So many examples. The Scots have a saying that a Geordie is a Scotsman with no brains and there’s a lot of truth to that. They celebrate stupidity,
I remember when they treated bobby robson with disdain and sacked him then made a statue of him outside the ground after he’d died.lol
The collective IQ of St James’ on match day is probably the equivalent to that of a very simple farm hand.

In our final half of fixtures we play only 2 of the widely accepted "big 6" (best 6 teams) based upon completed seasons. Objectively that is a favourable run in.

The reason you won't answer is because you've been caught out and won't admit it, which is on you. The fact remains though, we have a favourable run in. Against none top 6 sides we are averaging over 2 points per game (post silva) and if the trend continues (as it logically ought to) we have 52 points plus 2 games against Liverpool and Spurs. Looking at the league table we are right in the mix for the top 6.

Just playing devils advocate here but if we are right in the mix for top 6 (we are to be fair the way things are going) why are you so desperate for the season to be null and voided? Doesn't that impact our chances of taking another step forward? European footy is absolutely achievable. The difference that will make in terms of the shopping window is massive.

Or am I just speaking too much sense there?

I'm not desperate for the season to be null and voided. I want it to be played and you are right we have a good chance of catching Europe. That being said I think we will get Europe if it's and City's ban stands so it's a bit more complex.

However, we are not going to finish the season before the end of June, which was the deadline I set, UEFA had initially set and contracts dictated. My priority is ensuring we can complete next season, and to get the next set of money's from Sky in July we need to demonstrate we can do this. We have given this season every chance to be completed and gone massively over and above in doing this, but there has to be a line in the sand where we say enough is enough and protecting the game long term has to be factored in. I think we are at that point now.
