Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

They can spend big wages same as everyone can spend big on wages. We have the likes of sandro on over 100k a week and Bournemouth had Defoe on 150k a week.

West ham have been paying players crazy wages for years and are a London based club. It takes more then money to get top players in.

players care about 4 things. Money, location, playing in Europe and manager.

5. Access to supermodels

think both north east clubs have said attracting players to live in the area difficult, owen use dto get helicopters to work.

not a dig on the north east but they dont really have areas like cheshire, formby etc to live out in.

think jesmond is the nicer area and it wasnt upto much to say altrincham or hale which north west based clubs can offer.

i think theyll find it harder then they expect

I didn't say I WANTED financial fair play scrapped :p .
In all seriousness, no, I don't want it scrapped because Spurs will never be able to catch up (or will probably fall further behind?)

It's an interesting point, now Spurs have appeared to have bridged some of the income gap do you want to pull up the drawbridge to protect from other sides doing the same? You made the jump before FFP to becoming a top 4 side by being in the CL, arguably it wasn't done by massive spending and more by good luck (& judgement) that you had Bale that boosted performance and then the coffers after he was sold, cheaper buys such as Ali, added with uncovering a gem like Kane.

Imho the the haves will always be able to out spend our clubs and if Spurs made a few bad calls and continue to tail off and drop out of Europe when sponsorship deals are up for renewal, suddenly you have the increased income from a bigger stadium but everything else has reduced meaning the top sides have an even bigger advantage and your team can't spend (or more to the point spend enough) to get out of that rut and are left to wait for the right particular circumstances to challenge again.

I'd rather a free for all, the people that takeover clubs for success will get bored eventually and usually the traditional big clubs will still be there or thereabouts. So let Newcastle have their money, if they knock a team like Arsenal or Utd down the order it allows us a chance to peg them too.

Rafael used to get the train up there and live on the Wirral.

Not many £1M houses up here. It’s also a goldfish bowl. They can’t drink/eat in Newcastle and there really is nowhere else.

Lovely area to be rich but not famous

Spurs have always had FFP but it was Levy's version of it, in that we never spend more than we can afford.
As I said, no, I don't want FFP rules taken away because Spurs will then never compete (unless we are lucky enough to continue to buy well as we have in the last 15 years or so.)
I think most Everton fans are only now wanting FFP rules gone (or cheat around them,) because you are already in a little trouble with it cos of your expenditure. You feel that, with your hidden owner will soon to start hopefully bankroll the club. If he wasn't in the background, most of you wouldn't want the rules changed cos teams like Newcastle, if they have the backing like City have had, will make it even harder for you to progress through only being able to buy well.
Like with all supporters, most want what they feel is best for you own club ;)

If you like living in the countryside Northumbria is a beautiful county mate, stunning scenery, lovely little villages, lots of very good golf courses and a fair few high end places to eat and drink.

My brother inlaw lives up that way and used to live on an estate where loads of the Middlesborough players used to live.

There`s not really a lot going on for a young Premier League footballer, even more so if they`re forens, plus the Winters are proper fierce up there with it being on the East.

As you say, Jesmond is a nice area, but you`d get bored pretty quickly with the main strip on Osbourne Road and the places off the main strip, tend to be a bit too Bohemian for the average footy player - the Collingwood Arms being my pick of the bunch.

We begin the week with a gripping insight into the mind of a typical NUFC fan. Local Lad (Union Jack: check, st George’s cross: check, poppy: check, says he hates the far right as much as the far left on his bio lol Check) gives a ominous prophecy to all those who try and stand in the way of the sale of his beloved club:

That’s right mate, if Newcastle aren’t sold the consequences to the whole nation will be DEVASTATING. Could possibly start a war! Thousand of jobs and trade hinge on the possibility of the sale of the club!
lollollol 3 laughing emojis for you, you deluded helmet flake. I do love your inflated self importance. Your Bio and profile pic are simply Devine. However I think you’re missing a trick with not putting the boot in to Khashoggi’s ex lass (not even married) Showing great promise though!

It's a fair point, and of course there is a material benefit. I'm actually in favour of serious, straightforward and effective legislation that enshrines competitiveness. However FFP does the opposite of this.

I also think your position on it, is give or take where we were under Moyes. We had built a strong squad, mainly through avoiding the boom and bust cycle of replenishing the squad each season so thus added value. Spurs undoubtedly reached higher levels than Everton did, but it was a similar approach. I also think Spurs' is more of a thought through strategy whereas Everton's was a bit more a consequence of not having cash.

When I look back though, it didn't really help Everton, even back then. I would say there were 2 broad unintended consequences. The first was it forced top teams to start muscling in on our area of expertise (buying less well known, younger players to develop) and thus saturated the market and squeezed our niche. Secondly it meant top teams couldn't pay big money (plus a premium) on top.

Strangely, Everton had a bid on the table of £50m from Chelsea earlier on in the summer where we sold him for £30m (but a lot of that was add ons that took years to achieve). We should have taken the bigger offer. But essentially us providing and selling players to the top teams allowed us to build our niche.

No of course Spurs could not compete with the apex predators at the top with no legislation, but they could probably enact Levy's plan more easily.
