Well the new FFP changes are financial punishments not points deductions but either way I honestly wouldn't be bothered because football is bent anyway - the scab 6 can do what they want and get a slap on the wrist so too right our owners should do what they want and take the PL and whoever else to the highest court in the land for anti competitiveness.

Everton are boring these days - sat in midtable feeding off the TV money whilst we clap like seals. Last time I was genuinely buzzing for a game was the FA semi final against Utd under Martinez - we've had 5 managers since then! lol

How do you spend 500m on players and make a profit every year?

The amortisation costs every year would be astronomical. If they signed the players on an average of 4 year deals, they would have a £125m (£500m/4) write off every year. And that's before even considering the wage expenditure that would come with bringing in £500m worth of new signings.

I'm just listening to Simon Jordan, he basically said that because they have been in profit under Ashley for a long time , they can literally go out and spend 500m this window and still be inside regulations (which won't come into effect for 3 years)

They maybe can do it, but spending that sort of money would mean that they wouldn't be able to spend in future windows due to the costs of acquiring £500m worth of new players. We didn't spend anything near that but are now unable to spend much due to the costs we incurred.

You have to amortise transfer fees over the course of contracts. You also have to pay huge wages if you want to spend £500m on new players. I'm not sure how sustainable that model would be for any more than 1 or 2 seasons.

You have to question how emotionally invested in the club you are if you cant be annoyed another tinpot side is set to likely overtake us and win trophies etc. Whilst we remain mismanaged for decades because some awab despot is bored and wants to sports wash their murderous image.

What's the point buying season tickets etc. When the league is a fiddle from the get go? If it goes the way its likely then in a few years the top 7 euro spots are likely decided before a ball has been kicked - thats not competition its a farce more scripted than the wrestling.
