Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

I'm confused, will someone please explain in ways that a 5 - 10 year old would understand how Newcastle, Man City, PSG and the like can spend millions according to everything that I am reading, but Everton who apparently are backed by 2 of the richest guys in the world are negotiating deals from the middle aisle in Netto.
Neither Newcastle or City are a worldwide brand, so it has to be money from the owners pocket? Our owner is willing to spend, but can't because of regulations??
A good lawyer should be able to throw this in the bin for restriction of trade.
It's like an engineering firm being told that they can't buy the latest machine because they might get better than their competitors??

Apparently because of how much of tight arse Mike Ashley was, Newcastle are in a fabulous position for Profit and Sustainability purposes and the new owners can chuck around £200 million purely at the playing and coaching staff straight away.

What it comes down to though is turnover. Man City completely fake theirs by disguising their owner's investment behind sponsorship deals. I expect Newcastle will do the same once they start getting close to the FFP line. Sadly for us, whilst our revenue remains around the £150 million mark, we won't be getting clear of the premier league regulations to the point where we can throw endless money around.

You’d take a massive points deduction for breaking Premier League financial rules which risk putting the club in relegation danger in exchange for possibly having a slight chance of winning the FA Cup?
Doesn't it change in January to a system where if you overspend you have to pay a luxury tax?
If that's right if the owner has the tank he will just pay the fine

Anything to get us out of this never ending cycle of fighting for midtable every season.

We are just a boring club - fighting for trophies or fighting relegation im not arsed just some excitement these days would be nice over fighting for the 10th placed trophy.

No thanks. I've seen the relegation fights and I don't have the stomach for that taste of misery anymore. Let's stick with win the league or fa cup or nothing thanks. I'm not interested in what the European pantomime has become since its a league, so I'm not even happy with 2nd place.

If they are in profit every year , then surely that means they can spend their needs ... surely ?

How do you spend 500m on players and make a profit every year?

The amortisation costs every year would be astronomical. If they signed the players on an average of 4 year deals, they would have a £125m (£500m/4) write off every year. And that's before even considering the wage expenditure that would come with bringing in £500m worth of new signings.

You’re really not arsed? You wouldn’t be on here fuming if our reckless spending had left us with points deductions and massive financial penalties that leave us needing a fire sale and possibly relegated/torpedoing the new ground? I would be on here fuming at that.
