Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

If they're statement of intent is Trippier, Howe and Staveley as DOF I dont imagine they are going to be emulating City or Chelsea. I doubt they will even what we managed.

I was shocked Trippier was 31 years of age. Seems he has only been relevant recently so what was he doing previously? I suspect he is one of those average players that suddenly has a purple patch and becomes fashionable. Good luck to him but probably isn’t going to save Newcastle from the drop

Trippier is a free agent in summer and they are willing to buy him for £31 million.

Typical of a petro dollar club to skew the transfer market if this comes off, it's what PSG and City have been doing for years.

Now you won't be able to buy players cheap with months left on a contract anymore, this potential deal has changed that.

Not necessarily. This is a unique set of circumstances - a side with a massive cash injection that desperately needs to avoid relegation and only has a January window in which to do it.

The market at the top end didn't just move because of City and PSG, either - it moved because they started throwing bags of cash around and because United, Madrid, Barca and others found the revenue streams and financial engineering wizardry to keep up with the Joneses.

But the liquidity into football will be welcomed.
