Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Terrible isn't the word mate. An absolute PR disaster. Our owner was well-liked, but has made plenty of mistakes before. But this is a whole new level of low to be honest. The Mags will be laughing at us in decades for this.

For the game, the club have actually moved Season Card holders out of their seats to accommodate six thousand Newcastle fans (who are being charged more then our fans would be). Part of that is this hospitality section. Which they are charging Mag fans £500 a pop to use... Then to sweeten the deal they are haivng a NUFC legend in there, giving them free beers and a NUFC live podcast. If that wasn't enough they've done this.

Now taking down our memrobelia I understand. Any club would do that as you don't want it damaged. But buying (?)/ loaning NUFC stuff to put up on the walls is a disaster. BUT to make matters even worse, they actually put up stuff that insulted our history and region. A "cheer up Peter Reid" poster (in reference to a derogatory chant they have about him), actually laughing at our most successful manager in recent times, and the crossing out Haway poster. It's a disgrace to our history and traditions.

Then to compound absolutely everything, our own club has blocked our fan groups from creating an massive full stadium anti-newcastle/ anti-sports washing display before the game (below)

I don't care which league we are in, or if we're terrible on the pitch. My club should be proud of it's history, traditions and location.

The owner is claiming he knew nowt about it, but our podcasts/ fan media had heard about this happening weeks ago, so I find it hard to believe he didn't. But if he didn't know, they how the hell did this happen. How did nobody think this was beyond stupid. It also doesn't even make any commcerial sense, you already had them buying tickets with or without the merch. They are hardly coming back in the future are they.

Heads will roll regarding this, whether it is the owner I await with interest.

Best of luck in the match mate you know that you will have pretty much unanimous support from the Blue half of Merseyside in this game.

As you point out, it’s bonkers, as the horse punchers have already stumped up the cash.

Good luck in the match!

The mad thing, is that this isn`t really getting any coverage outside of the North East.

It`s an absolute disaster.

Cheers lads, we'll need a bit more then luck I'm afraid haha. Not used to losing derbies these days (the last time we did was August 2011) but the writing is on the wall for this one.

Same sentiment from me, not just because it is enjoyable seeing Newcastle lose but also always had a soft spot after my other club Barrow played you in the FA Cup.

Our Chairman at the time was a Sunderland fan and afterwards had some great stories about how they were treated along with our players and management. A lot of respect that was not condescending but very welcoming.
