Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Haha love this. They think they can spend £350m+ in a few transfer windows, then because they got a few injuries, should be entitled to spend more to replace them.

FFP has its issues, but this is kinda the point of FFP, to stop teams stockpiling players because they have a few injuries/unavailable.

Was on the cards from the off when people began to wet themselves that they'd become the new City.

FFP stops that. They spent their cap post Ashley (around £200mill), got champs league then bombed out. Now they're having to wheel and deal while also jump through whatever loopholes they can to increase commercially.

Their aim should be to reach Tottenhams level. Get consistent champions league and European places. Win a goblet.

However none of that will happen under Howe (1st season in Europe as a coach, always going to struggle league and cup) and they'll soon clock that.

Matter if time before they jump into the 'marquee' manager pool.

I have no issue with "FFP" providing it covers every club. There are some clubs whose revenues are based on former glory years are so big it means the rules simply do not apply to them.

No rules = City, Newcastle, PSG etc dominate.

Current rules = old boys network of Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea dominate.

There has to be rules that cover every club to bring some credibility back to football. We all know why UEFA wont do it though as they dont want the money clubs to take their ball and leave for an ESL.
FFP reasoning was to stop clubs going bankrupt.

Imagine if Mosh had been able to spend freely for the last 5 years, then all of a sudden Uncle Ussy pulled the plug.

Look, the current FFP rules are unfair, they need changing, in fact, they have been changed, but certainly not for the better.
