They are a club like us, Villa that want to compete with the top 6 but are hamstrung by the rules put in place.
They are selling to "friends" in SA to Circumvent FFP and P&S rules......just like we had been doing with Usmanov till the sanctions....NONE of us had an issue with it.
Us, and they should not need to do this to compete....THATS the issue here!!!
EDIT : Look, I hate Newcastle too ....but the bigger issue is WHY clubs need to create ways to make money.

Exactly. And the intention is to pull the ladder up behind them too because nobody else in the league can palm their garbage off to parent clubs in another continent.

Erm...all those sponsorship deals and "First naming rights option" payment - All ways to circumvent FFP / P&S rules. It would still be happening now without those sanctions.

I am fully aware what the “bigger issue” is.
Newcastle are getting around these issues by means of which nobody else has access too. That makes them no better or more “pure” than City, Chelsea or any of the other cheats. If we have to succumb to these stupid rules then they should as well, but it just so happens that’s they have a very convenient way around it. I’m sorry to say I shed no tears for their “plight”
They need to do that, because the rules made up by the PL, no doubt with "help" from the big 6, force them to. There is a bigger issue here than petty jealousies amongst us also rans.
These rules have effectively created a 6 team league, there is no interest at all for the other 14 clubs, see Everton for what happens if you fall foul of them lob sided rules. £105m and less than 70% of totally suits the massive commercial and kit deals these clubs have it has to be changed. I agree with Pabs on this, but at the same time it's still wrong what Newcastle are trying to do.

Tottenham built slowly, selling assets at peak prices and not having to resort to anything underhand (as far as I’m aware) to get to the top 6. They were on a par with us not so long ago.
Thought that was going to be the model for Newcastle but they’re getting a bit impatient.

Nothing they are doing is against the rules….the league had a vote for it…and we voted same was as Newcastle ffs.
Not 1 of us would be complaining now if it was us....or if Usmanov was still filtering money into us, with stadium fully paid off etc.
Cant be having double standard…..that’s just being a hypocrite….and bitter.
Not just Newcastle doing it, Liverpool haven't done too bad out of it either, we also sold a player, so have Wolves and others, okay not exactly the same circumstances but money is money.
