News of Ex Players

Richie came out and said it as well in the last few days that James was training well and working really hard but benitez came in and just decided he couldn't count on him and it affected all the players as they couslnt understand why. He then did the same with digne.

It's interesting if you read comments from people on that Fabrizio piece. The vast majority say that he is only saying it now because he hates where he is, so he's trying to get back in our good books, barely any comments blaming Rafael for that business.

Comments from people ? who? Dave from wigan? Why would he be trying to get back in our good books. Its not a loan, he isnt coming back. He never has to mention us again.

He is going to say that though. Richarlison has been poor for two seasons. Digne the same. James could never get fit. It's easy to put all the blame for this season on Benitez.

It is easy when the manager produces the worst run of form in most people's lifetimes and turns a comfortable mid table side into relegation candidates yes

Ancelotti, one of the best managers of all time, had this team 10th and 12th. The team was overperforming. This has been coming.

A defeat on Saturday and the team has lost 4 in 5 league games since RB left. It is too easy to blame RB for everything. The players are the problem and have been under lots of managers.

If the players are the problem why were they not a problem under Ancelotti? Why was Silva in his first season able to achieve similar results to CA? Benitez inherited a team of seasoned professionals and internationals, picked fights with his best players and gutted the non playing staff to get complete control. It was a coup on our club and it crippled us.

It's a complete myth and revisionist nonsense that this form or season was coming prior to his arrival

Mate, we have had a load of bottlers for years, well before Ancelotti. They are more interested in dodgy fashion and vulgar cars than actually performing for this Club.

Richarlison and the other players will blame Benitez because it gets them another chance that they do not deserve. Richarlison is only one. There are many, many others sadly. They have been hiding, cruising, too happy to collect their wages under 4 or 5 managers now. The situation this club is in is because of too many like that in the dressing room.

He did indeed.

But we play in 45 to 50 games per season, so having someone who can physically only get on the field for half of them as your top earner is not a great idea.
you cant rationalize it with his wages given that he cost nothing to buy.
If you break down transfer fees and add them on to wages, he was probably on par with most of the bigger names in the squad.

or, the players are not too bad but changing managers like underpants and recruiting by managers, owners, and directors, has left a directionless mishmash of a squad.
What we're seeing now is down to chronically poor management at every level.
This is a huge job for Lampard but I genuinely don't think players are taking the piss. There isn't a player on the planet who could keep their composure working in the mess that is Everton lately.
