Getting 8 million for him might prove to be a good bit of busineeThere is some rich vaulting to be had there. Posters were calling for people to be sacked for selling him.

Doubt anyone would disagree Think it was all about financial juggling with the respective deals.…I think that’s ok business, especially with the insurance of a sell-on clause. The point I’d make is I don’t think he’s much worst than Beto.

Been a superb player and had a great careerMost successful English centre back of his generation, 6 premier League titles, one champions League, 83 England caps (more than Terry or Ferdinand). Has been named in the premier League team of the season twice, champions League team of the season and world FIFA 11. Played a key role in City's treble winning season by regularly stepping into defensive midfield!
Nah didn't live up to the hype
Are you talking about France's winning goal? I think that was Maguire and not StonesIn European and world terms?
Nope, he didn't - but that's more a commentary on the hype rather than Stones, who is obviously a very good player and highly successful. He's not, however, exactly Franz Beckenbauer or Franco Baresi. And he was badly exposed in the World Cup quarter-final with France, but then he has never been a great defender.
He's had a fine career, but I wouldn't consider him a world-beater (which was what some had him down as, and obviously some still do).
