I'm not getting this 'leverage' angle with Allardyce. It's not like the Fonseca stuff is being widely reported right now, most neutrals in the country probably still don't have a clue that he's even being considered..
Sams advisors are not like neutrals. It's encumbent upon them to be fully aware of the situation as part of their job and advise him accordingly.

If Allardyce & Silva are the Mosh candidates & Bill was pushing Unsworth is Bill out the picture now that it is clear that Unsworth won't work.

Or is it Mosh/Silva(Fonseca); Walsh/Allardyce; Bill/Unsworth

Very confusing.

Personally I think appointing someone with a 35% win percentage over his career, who got less out of Sunderland than Gus Poyet, and threw away his dream job because he couldn't help himself from being an odious fat biff, when you're 2 years into a 'short window' in which you're trying to make yourself a real force would be a tad more reckless than appointing a highly rated if - GULP - foreign manager, but hey, it's all about opinions.

What is Sam's non-loss percentage? Because gaining a draw rather than being walloped 4-1 by a midtable side is quite useful when you are in a relegation battle.

Anyone who believes Fonseca is coming is naieve. His agent is Mendes just like the Wolves manager. Mendes is likely taking the opportunity to raise his clients profile with Moshiris blessing as Sam is likely hardballing us in negotiation now he knows we're absolutely desperate. The Fonseca angle is simply being used in an attempt to leverage more compromise from Sam.
Even if negotiations with Sam break down Fonseca won't be coming. He's only managed in the mighty Portuguese and Ukrainian leagues. Appointing him to fight a relegation battle in the Premiership would be the most reckless gamble with Evertons future I've ever seen and Moshiri isn't going to risk his massive investment like that.
Post of the day clap clap

I think Mosh's team will be a lot closer to Eastern Europe football & how to negotiate with Donesk & may be more comfortable with appointing somebody from their neck of the woods.
