A small part of me is waning slightly to benitez.....

Still don't want him here based on his loyalties BUT as we will clearly be hiring from the division he is obviously the best of a bad bunch. It would take a while to adjust to him but he is a winner in all sense of the term and has top level experience , something our shortlist of silva, dyche, howe doesnt have.

With an open chequebook there’s no doubt he would create a decent side. Does he have the style of football though to get top 4? He’s basically a mini Mourinho, pack the team with grocks, have a watertight defence and superb set pieces, then hope a world class attack finishes it all off. Apart from 08/09 he was pretty poor in the league considering the players he had at his disposal. Would that be enough in the current prem with both Manc clubs now looking imperious?

I just think we need a unity candidate we could all get behind. Rafael will have half against him because of LFC, and another half because of his football. He’s also managed Liverpool Newcastle and Real Madrid which are basically the three biggest groups of bells known to the football world. There’s got to be something wrong about him that attracts him to those fanbases.

WRD1878 off TEF...

I've been told that Paulo Fonseca is on the verge of signing a new contract with Shakhtar.

Not signed yet, but could be signed as early as this week.

I have a bad feeling it is going to be someone we don't want again. I really don't want Silva... I don't see the appeal of him and he literally fell apart after we talked to him and Watford struggled. I really don't want him. Honestly I don't know who I want managing this dumpster fire of a team. It just needs to be someone with a winning mentality, who is able to get the best out of our players and is able to close out games and actually field a team that can shoot on goal. Is that really too much to ask for???
