Marcel Brands is taking a lead role in Everton’s search for a new manager.

The Blues’ new director of football will have a big say in who replaces Sam Allardyce in the Goodison
Brands does not officially start at Everton until next week but is understood to already be hands on in the club’s hunt for a new boss.
Allardyce was sacked six days ago and Everton are keen to finalise his successor this week.
Marco Silva remains the firm favourite to be the Blues’ new boss but it is believed the club are still considering other candidates with Brands leading the process.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is someone who has been discussed by the power-brokers at Everton.
Brands, 56, comes to Everton as the replacement for Steve Walsh and is set to hold greater influence.
The Blues are hoping to announce a new manager by the end of this week, with Silva still in pole position, although Brands has been given the licence to run the rule over other managers.

but he's won championships in Portugal and Russia, not top leagues sure, but still, not failure. Also has a better points per game record than Pochettino as Spurs, just saying
But yeah, he has a really bad rep for various reasons. Still a young coach, he should get back in the saddle and prove people wrong - I am not suggesting he does it with your boys though!

for me we should be looking at comparative clubs accross the leagues rather than managers whove p*ssed the league in lesser leagues.
