You think the sides outside the top 6 are better than what La Liga has to offer in the same positions? It's all par for course. Just a shame that English clubs spend a few hundred million more achieving their mediocrity.

We should be happy the standard of teams in the league is so poor, else we could actually be in a bit of trouble.
It’s the most comepetitive league in the world mate. La Liga isn’t very competitive.

In what sense? Barcelona and Real Madrid usually beat all comers because they are absolutely fantastic sides. All the other teams take points from each other. I definitely wouldn't back Atletico Madrid or Sevilla away from home against the majority of teams in that League.

Gap between 4th place and 18th place in La Liga last season 41 points.

It's the same story all across Europe... Why think this league is any different?

Garbage...bottom half of the prem ok then lad ?

So you wouldn't take Ancelotti..?!

Because it’s got the most competitive league and has been for a while now. The money in the Premier League attracts the largest pool of talent from all over. The quality is dispersed amongst the teams, players and managers.

Just a boring platitude wheeled out by Sky for me. All the other leagues are just as competitive, you've just got to open your eyes and take notice. Better quality of players and all.

For every time Liverpool struggle away from home at Newcastle, Sevilla will take a beating by Malaga.

Oh right it’s a media soundbite.

So back to Koeman and Everton as I was saying, due to the competitiveness of the Premier League there’s no real shortcuts into sustainable success. It’s well chartered that hiring and firing managers often is likely to be more unsuccessful than work. So perhaps a bit of patience is a virtue. Maybe even too for managers widely lauded by their own fanbase two months ago.

I just don't understand how it isn't? Surely you judge how competitive a league is by the chances of the poorer teams taking points from the better teams.

The best way of seeing how likely that is to happen is to look at the gap between the top sides and those at the bottom. In both Italy and Spain there were fewer points between 18th and 4th last year than there were in the Premier League...

We have only just joined the premier league competitively and financially moreso. Sacking managers occasionally is a dangerous trend we don’t really wanna engage in.

That fellow Ballague debunked this whole argument on talkSPORT one day.

Quoted a whole bunch of statistics which proved your point, Dan.

Taking one year’s data doesn’t prove a point mate. Plus I doubt we’re gonna agree regardless so I’ll leave you to get back to what you were doing.

* average points total of La Liga Champions is 95, for Premier League is 86, but hey! Data and agendas.

Sacking managers is fine if you've got a load of cash to spend afterwards. In our situation it isn't very advisable. We're more likely to end up like Villa than we are Spurs.
