I tend to agree with that and that is why I am still hesitant to pull the trigger.

However.....to stick with this bloke and allow this malaise to deepen will be just as disastrous.....but probably much quicker.

This guy is not going to turn it round IMO.

I doubt even the staunchest Koemantonian believes he will at this stage.

And I believe he will be gone at the end if the season anyway.

But even if he ain't, he will deffo be gone at the end of next season.

He has no desire to stay here in the long term and IMO this is being reflected on the pitch.

Which us why I am really veering toward getting rid.

I don't even think there's anyone who likes Koeman that much. At least with Martinez he bought into the club (or pretended to). Koeman comes across as having little love for us and consequently there's little love for him.

Personally I think he will turn things around. Nothing sensational, probably a comfortable top half finish and a decent cup run depending on the draw. As you say though, he may well likely be gone at the end of the season anyway.

By the way, I remember me telling you a few weeks ago we'd beat Burnley and all will be fine. That worked out well haha.

Fair points mate. I feel it too. I just think now isn’t the time to jib him.

I get ya. Last thing I want us to do is rush into a new appointment and hope it works. Needs some real time spent on it. Either jib and stuck Unsy as caretaker while the process begins of sorting out the structure and hiring the new team, or just begin the process anyway behind Koeman's back. I don't mind really. My major bastion of hope is that Moshiri is no mug, and sees what different things need to be done at a more overarching club level.

lol

I wish you had been right, Dan.

Because after today I am officially worried :(

In a weird way I’m calmed by Moshiri sticking by him as he’s seemingly an astute business leader and is privy to more behind the scenes than us.

Oh hang on no, he called James McCarthy family.

You see, this is what worries me, Chico.

To the best of my knowledge Moshiri is not an "astute business leader".

He is an an accountant whom helped Usmanov euphemistically funnel the money he made on the back of the gold rush that was the great Russian asset rip off when the Soviet Union collapsed.

His fortune, as far as I know, is based on "gifts" the oligarch rewarded him with for services rendered in that department.

In short, Moshiri is not some mighty captain of industry whom does indeed know how to build up a successful business.

So God knows what we have coming down the pike :(

And yes.....Jimmy Mac is "family" and Jimmy W is his bezzie

So back to Koeman and Everton as I was saying, due to the competitiveness of the Premier League there’s no real shortcuts into sustainable success. It’s well chartered that hiring and firing managers often is likely to be more unsuccessful than work. So perhaps a bit of patience is a virtue. Maybe even too for managers widely lauded by their own fanbase two months ago.
Whilst doing the managerial merry-go-round is pretty sure not to 'work', there's also nothing to show that 'having patience' works either. Only one I can think of that working with is Ferguson. Hundreds of other managers have failed to get it together by having time.

Id like anceloti but cant see it happening. 2nd choice would be to give it to unsworth until xmas and see how he gets on. If he perfoms make it permanent if not moving back to his current role.

This ... would prefer unsworth to Xmas ... gives us time to attract someone ... also gives us a bit of passion back in the side and a chance to actually see how our young players perform given a run of games.

"I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage Everton Football Club. Obviously it's unfortunate that I've started my tenure with a 6-0 home defeat to Watford, but football's a funny old game."

Yes because comparing Barcelona and the greatest group of players ever assembled to Everton is sensible.

Think the point he's making is that Barca had a excellent team , full of world class players and are up there with Madrid as the two biggest clubs on earth... they can basically attract any player or manager they like...

BUT THEY CHOSE PEP! Who had no experience ..

That's the point he's making

So you wouldn't take Ancelotti..?!

Out of interest, which part of that 20-year CV of managing the very best talent in world football with a famously laissez-faire approach makes him a good fit for a struggling mid-table side with top-to-bottom squad issues?

Is there any recent example of a club sticking with a manager who was underperforming this much and managed to turn it around?

It's rare, I can't think of many off the top of my head. Clubs have tried it with wasters like Pardew (twice Palace and Newcastle), Martinez even West Ham are trying it with Billic.

The rott started a while ago.

Drew 0-0 at West Ham
Lost 3-0 home to Chelsea
Lost 1-0 at Swansea
Drab 1-0 victory over Watford
Lost 3-1 at Arsenal (10 men Arsenal)

Add the above to the 7 fixtures this league campaign, plus the 2 woeful performances/results in the EL proper. We've won 3 in the last 14 games (not including EL qualifying)

Not good enough. But it looks like we're gonna do nothing, whilst Tuschel and Ancelotti are free to be talked too and compo free.

Bottlers. 2nd time on the bounce the club have done this.

Three questions needed answering, the first one has been.
If? - tick;
No more 'If' now, on to the next 2.

When? - Soon as you like Mosh...though I can see us limping on till the Watford game and the next break.

Who? The Romantic pick would of course be Unsworth...and who's to say romance is dead
It could be that the Watford manager might conduct the practical side of his interview right in front of our eyes, like Martinez and Wigan did.

This is the biggest decision in the Clubs history since deciding not to pay the rent increase in 1892...So no pressure then Mosh.

Get this wrong and my suspicion, a thing that rears it's head at times like these. The suspicion that all we are in reality, is just Leeds in slow motion is once again out of the cage because 'The Board' failed to shut the door properly
