I was saying Moyes for DOF when we first started looking for them.
(1) He set up the best analytics department in the country with us.
(2) His scouting record and recruitment was excellent particularly for defenders - we had Stones, Dier, Mustafi and Manolos either signed or almost signed in his time here. Add in Coleman, Jags, Lescott, Coleman and you have the best defenders we've had in years.
(3) His work on improving our infrastructure was excellent with the Finch Farm project and the academy structure.
(4) His eye for detail on fitness and sports science was ahead of his time.

I think his time as a first team manager is over but he'd make an excellent DOF.

Couple him with a modern tactician and energetic manager and you'd have a great team.

Why would we need Moyes when are already have the best scout in the world as our DoF?

Did Moyes ever find a 30 year old Zola who'd already made over 200 Serie A appearances and some 20 or so for Italy?

No, I didn't think so!

He signed a defender for 5M (A lot then) before realizing he couldn't head a ball...

It's a no from me I'm afraid.

Would anyone consider Chris Coleman?I know international football is a different animal but I'm impressed by his ability to switch tactics and forge team spirit.

I'm not saying he should be our next manager just wondering what thoughts are on him. I know his Fulham spell was underwhelming but he's done well with Wales more exciting to watch than England anyway.

You think back to when Martinez was managing and you thought "where the hell si the defensive structure??", then the next person is in contention for best defender of all time and the question is "where the hell is any shot on goal OR defensive structure?"

Don't know if it's been shared or mentioned somewhere already on the forum but there's an article in the Mail with Moyes and he sounds like he's hinting at coming back here or trying to talk himself into the job lol
