If it doesn’t suit your agenda then that’s reason enough to dismiss it obviously.
What agenda is this? The guy had zero experience at this level. He may well be a great manager but at the moment we are struggling and to put him in place is extremely risky. Would love him to succeed at management but this isn't his time.

I Would go 4/5/1 personally with two wingers , one of the middle three being Siggy behind forward and have two of Lennon/Vlasic/Lookman/Mirallas on the wings.

We need to totally drop the idea of Rooney/Siggy in same team.

I think niasse deserves a run up top and I think his work rate/endeavour will help massively.

My biggest gripe with Rhino was the starting line up on Sunday and the change at half time in Leicester.

Yes all good points. I think the first half set up was all wrong against Leicester, so we differ on that!

I think Wayne probably has a role from the bench in games, he's a clever player and can calm games down. I like Sigurrdson as 1 of 3 central midfield players. While there's not much output from him going forward he works incredibly hard and hasn't hid which says a lot for him. I think some goals will come.

Hopefully we can get Gana back to last season of just patrolling in front of the back 4, that would be a big benefit. The final midfield slot can really rotate between Davies and Baningime (who has really impressed me).

Lookman and Vlasic would be really interesting in wide areas. I like how we have kept it tight for half in the last two games. It doesn't sound a lot, but it's small steps.

I need to qualify a myth: we didn't play well against Chelsea. We played their b-team, they blew us away in the first half, we didn't have a single shot in the same half, and then had a classic Everton valiant loser second half. Pathetic stuff, pathetic.

He clearly has alienated a lot of players, including our best player this season, Vlasic. Such a shame he never came through the Unsworth school of science, he would be lauded then alongside the Scouse Cafu, JohnJoe Kenny.

No, he won't have a magic wand, but he is a defender, why not make us hard to beat? Start at tehe back as Howard Kendall said, but what does he know, hewas only our most successful manager.

They did not blow us away at all mate. If we're going to debate at least be rational.

On that basis we blew them away and more in the second half. Plus let's have it right, a lot of our team we're playing football for the first time in months.

Not a fan of DU being manager but be fair eh.

He has changed us at the back. He played our defence far too high against a more mobile Watford frontline. Bad mistake. Cost us a goal. He neglected (again) to have the posts covered at set pieces. Bad mistakes. Cost us goals!

Siggy in my eyes is doing nothing wrong. He's low on confidence but naturally bern messed about. Played in four positions thus far!

His celebration for DCL goal shows he cares. Plus he has more quality than anyone.

This is basically what I get from it. They patently don't want to appoint Dyche for the medium term (probably the direction I'd go in) and back themselves to get a big appointment in the summer (a big risk).

It then comes down to Allardyce V Unsworth. I suspect re Allardyce neither party are willing to shift terms much presently. We are chancing it, that with a reasonably run of fixtures in the next 4, even if we only get 6 points, we could well be 5 or 6 points above the drop zone and relatively secure. If we pick up 3 points or less from the next 4 we will remain bang in trouble, will probably make the call to Allardyce, concede to most of his demands but safe in the knowledge the fans will be more open to the possibility.

At present, to give Unsworth a better chance, treating him as a manager not a "stand in" will help him. After 3 nightmare games to start he now has a chance.
Don't disagree with you,but so far he has shown very little to suggest he is capable of getting a tune out of this team. His ,to me, over reliance on old hands is dispiriting. I'm also a little tired of the 'we're Everton aren't we' motivational speeches followed by basically lacklustre performances.
But above all that ,you once again mention my biggest concern that if he fails we will appoint Allardyce on his terms. That would be the most disheartening appointment for me in over 5 decades of support.

I think on the balance of play we deserved to beat Watford mate, and were a little unfortunate in Lyon (the scoreline flattered them).

It hasn't been much of an improvement, or a big improvement, but we had 3 tough away games and won against a decentish side.
On the balance of play we had absolutely no right to beat Watford mate. We were second best all over the pitch for the huge majority of the game, but once they changed keepers we took our chance. That's fine by the way, it's what footballs all about, but I honestly think we could have lost 4-0 if it wasn't for them losing 2 of their back 5.

You know I once met a descendent of the great Wat Tyler?

I think the Chelsea game performance has been too generous. They had a weakened team out (though lads like Morata and Hazard played) but so did we.

I agree re Vlasic, I suppose my point is wider though. We currently have a to of players who are under performing and you can make a case for about 20 lads to be given a game. I agree Vlasic has been one of our best performers but it was a very low bar mate. I mean against Arsenal he played central midfield in a team that was completely overran. I can see why he wasn't in his first teams selected, but he could certainly be eased back in, it can't be a long term thing.

I agree with you re building from the back. He has done this with the 23's. The problem is, Jagielka and Williams are really struggling and not being protected well enough.

Whoa. If Jags can't prevent a guy from just bullying him over both in the middle of the field and on a friggin set piece, that's hardly Unsworth's fault. Who else can he play?

I want a new manager in pronto, but I'm not going to be irrational to lay down an argument to support it.

And we thrashed Chelsea in the second half and deserved a result. That I believe. B team or not.
