You know I once met a descendent of the great Wat Tyler?

I think the Chelsea game performance has been too generous. They had a weakened team out (though lads like Morata and Hazard played) but so did we.

I agree re Vlasic, I suppose my point is wider though. We currently have a to of players who are under performing and you can make a case for about 20 lads to be given a game. I agree Vlasic has been one of our best performers but it was a very low bar mate. I mean against Arsenal he played central midfield in a team that was completely overran. I can see why he wasn't in his first teams selected, but he could certainly be eased back in, it can't be a long term thing.

I agree with you re building from the back. He has done this with the 23's. The problem is, Jagielka and Williams are really struggling and not being protected well enough.

Bollox to Everton, what did Wat Tyler's descendant have to say for himself?

They did not blow us away at all mate. If we're going to debate at least be rational.

On that basis we blew them away and more in the second half. Plus let's have it right, a lot of our team we're playing football for the first time in months.

Not a fan of DU being manager but be fair eh.

Mate, we had a new manager coming into a new side who had been supposedly oppressed by the wicked Koeman, and in the first 45 minutes we had no shots. That is not a shots on target, it's actual shots. Chelsea went 1 up, while in third gear. It was genuinely embarrassing to watch. Second half was classic Everton: let's have a'go' when we are well out of the game.

Im torn on this one.

Unsworth has done amazing stuff with the U23's, especially when he's competing with the City's, Chelsea's etc. The way he has them working, the team spirit they show is fantastic, they all fight for each other and they actually play some really good stuff - its exactly what I want to see from the first team. However, its a totally different kettle of fish in the PL and if it doesnt work its complete disaster and could set the club back years.

He has been touted as a future Everton manager and if he is to step up into the role, he will need to start somewhere so why not now. I havent liked some of his decisions but he was never going to turn that embarrassment of a team around in under 2 weeks - nobody could. I would honestly rather let him carry on if we need to wait until the summer to get a quality manager, before giving it to Allerdyce the bung taking fraud who will have us hoofing it to nobody every game and wanting to spend £30mill on Andy Carroll in Jan, with a load of other crap signings that gives himself a huge £££

He's done a fine job with the U23s. But chelsea in particular have most of their best young players out on loan. City as well have a few.

So give the job to a manager who averages 2 goals conceded every game because we managed to cone from behind in one of them?

How embarrassing will it be in 2 months when we realise that our reserve manager with no prior experience wasn't the right man to manage us out of a relegation battle in the premier league? How embarrassing will it be for moshiri?

Moyes has only joined west ham to make kenwright jealous. Kenwright will be fretting with only simeone on his A list. Lets just cut losses and get boris johnson instead.

Whoever comes in still has the same problems that we've had all season :

A geriatric defence and no fully reliable striker.

( that's not a pop at DCL or Niasse, but in the ideal, non ballsed up world of Everton, neither would be first choice if we had brought a proper striker in )

Unsworth so far, doesn't seem to know how to address these problems - same as Koeman.

I don't think he's ready for a firefighting job, which is what the role requires , until at least the transfer window.

He has changed us at the back. He played our defence far too high against a more mobile Watford frontline. Bad mistake. Cost us a goal. He neglected (again) to have the posts covered at set pieces. Bad mistakes. Cost us goals!
No mistake by Keane and most teams don't have two players on the post but even if we did they are not stopping that header.
