Almost by default, I think Dyche will be offered the job this week because Everton's preferred choices - "top" foreign names - are not currently available and Allardyce wants a long-term contract.

Shame Silva is not brave enough to take up the challenge.

Everton fans are frustrated the decision is taking so long, but so are most Burnley fans. Four of our next six games are at home (Swansea, Arsenal, Watford and Stoke) which gives us a realistic chance of looking safe from relegation by the New Year.

I hope he turns us down mate, partially for the reason you say that he is far down the list, and partially I would like him to stay where he is and carry on the work at your club.

I've never really been in his fan club, but think what he is doing at burnley is good - just can't see him taking it to another club (at the moment - just my opinion of what I know and have seen - might be baseless).

Worst part of this is the silence from the board. Not a sniff of anything. I'm all for not letting the names of those you are interested in not being released but at least an update would be nice along the lines of selection process is ongoing etc etc.

Well firstly, they're not going to name their targets. Secondly, having not named a successor to Koeman, you can take it as read that the process is ongoing. What else would they update us on?

I’ve come to accept the PE teacher will be in charge with his stupid team selections and formations on Saturday.

Thanks, Everton.
And the result of that game will decide who is our next manager! 3 points and I see Unsworth in the hot seat until may

I never know when we are getting a nw boss until its announced, that wouldn't be a clever thing to do from a company ? They have no obligation to tell us until its announced. They need to interview the candidates and do their due diligence.

Sensible posts like this will not be tolerated on here! How dare they not have a live stream from the boardroom.

I think Allardyce would have been the manager now if Watford had held on to their lead - still might be if Unsworth is in charge against Palace and things don't go to plan.

Of course, this will not happen if someone like Dyche/Silva is appointed before Saturday.

Firstly I don't expect them to name their targets as I stated. Secondly can we really take it as read that something is going on? With everything that's happened this season and the position of the team at the moment we need, as a team, more certainty with the position of manager. For me I can't remember any team taking this long to appoint a manager with absolutely nothing coming from the club. How do you think Unsworth is able to handle his players given this uncertainty? It all just stinks of mis-management. However if there is silence then we appoint simeone or tuchel out of the blue then I'll admit the club where right but if as I suspect we end up with Unsworth or Dyche or similar it is unacceptable for a team like ours.
