Whoever comes in now 99.9% of us are going to be so dissapointed. He's clearly going to be crap.

Count yourselves lucky! Mick Phelan is currently being touted as Dyche's replacement - he may be a former player (years and years ago) but he was disastrous at both Norwich and Hull. Earned a good living as one of Fergie's "yes men".

After not bothering about Burnley since he left in the early 1980s, Phelan has suddenly appeared on the scene in the last few days "brown-nosing" BFC, saying how well-run the club is and what a brilliant job the directors have done.

Very ominous.

To me it seems like Dyche due to them working down a list. It doesn't mean he will be crap though. Most people on here were quite happy when Koeman was appointed and look what happened there! Martinez was a popular appointment to many and look what he did. A season of nice football and then it fell apart.

Howe about taking a punt on Chris Wilder ? I still have his mobile number from when I sorted him a new Audi when he was at Northampton Town. Worked well with Northampton and making good progress at Sheffield Utd

Worst part of this is the silence from the board. Not a sniff of anything. I'm all for not letting the names of those you are interested in not being released but at least an update would be nice along the lines of selection process is ongoing etc etc.

Don't know anything about Phelan but in my work experience when an ex employee who is fond of brown nosing (as was eloquently put), chances are they are well connected and are aware of pending changes and opportunities this presents. As this impacts ourselves, this would suggest a Dyche appointment is imminent, or at the very least an offer from EFC is under consideration by Dyche or subject to ongoing negotiation by his agent(s).
P.S. Jeff Hendrick and Steven Ward both peforming great for Ireland, any chance they might come along too..

I think dyche will stay mate. I don't mean it in a negative way btw but I don't want him here I don't think he can do a lot other than keep us a mid table team! Whoever we get right now won't be good enough in my opinion as it won't be anyone decent. Good luck for the rest of the season mate and do the RS at turf Moore!

I am not so sure about that.

The RS have won nowt of any signicance in over a decade and Thatcher was still in Downing Street when last they won the league.

They have really fallen behind Chelsea, the Manc clubs and increasingly now Spurs

That doesn’t stop them behaving and acting like a European super power and doing so helps keep their profile strong.

Not bigging ourselves up has been the Achilles Heel of EFC since televised football catapulted the game into the public eye in the 1960s.

And it also means we tug our forelocks and stand meekly aside in big games and at pivotal moments. You can't just believe you're big, but if you match it with desire and effort, it gets you somewhere.

They never ever ever ever tell us anything and now if they do seems to come from bloody Jim White.

I'm dreading the presser with kenwright smirking like he's just got guardiola and its Infact total opposite. " he was our first choice " Koff will you kenwright!

Nowt? I mean winning the champions league is not to bad. Plus some cups, another champions league final and an european cup under Houiller.
