Yes, and I agree it was proper dire straits, money-for-nothing stuff (tho' Chelsea we played alright, to be fair).

But that last 20 mins vs Watford is what football is (sometimes) made of. That special moment when fortunes changes, form changes and things suddenly look brighter. Everyone feels it, from the players & coaches to the fans. Well, in this case not everyone as many Evertonians are understandably raw from so many past disappointments. Getting our hopes up only hurts more when things come crashing down...

Still, if I was making the big decisions, balancing the pros & cons of everything and the realities of the new-manager market, I'd still give Rhino the job until the end of the season. He, and our players, need at least to know where they stand for the foreseeable future.
The only thing that changed against Watford was their goalkeeper. Seriously in over 5 decades of watching us , I’ve never seen us benefit from so much good fortune.

Dyche has done a fantastic job for us and I will be disappointed when he leaves. I had braced myself a couple of weeks ago that he was leaving to Everton, or Leicester, or West Ham (even Palace last August).

I would still wish him luck but if he left NOW for Everton, I would lose some respect for him because it is now obvious that he would have been only 4th/5th choice (even lower) for the job.

Anyway, the Toffees will stay up whoever you appoint (unless it is Brian Laws).:)

If we can’t get the man we want then Unsworth stays until we can. You have to think Tuchel/Ancelotti have said no at this stage.

It’s a risk as his team selections especially have looked dodgy, but not sure what else can be done.

The Everton board haven't got a clue who they want. Lard arse is an easy appointment but wants a lot of money. Dyche is a risk. Silva doesn't seem too keen and Unsy has been a disappointment.
To be fair I haven't got a clue either.

Almost by default, I think Dyche will be offered the job this week because Everton's preferred choices - "top" foreign names - are not currently available and Allardyce wants a long-term contract.

Shame Silva is not brave enough to take up the challenge.

Everton fans are frustrated the decision is taking so long, but so are most Burnley fans. Four of our next six games are at home (Swansea, Arsenal, Watford and Stoke) which gives us a realistic chance of looking safe from relegation by the New Year.
