Spoke,to a Bayern season card holder this week...and he said Bayern would be absolutely mad to appoint Tuchel or even Nagelsmann....his opinion of Tuchel was less than complimentary.

A lack of experience thing with Nagelsmann putting the fans off? I gotta admit, I think they may look to someone more experienced than Nagelsmann, it's a big ask for a 31 year old to be managing a team who expects their coach to take them to a CL final.

Tuchel is not going to Bremen either, not that this is a surprise.

Interesting to see what the next few days will bring on this.

The slant given to the media on this should indicate that Silva has given the green light for the move. Enough encouragement must be there to pursue compensation with Watford though I guess this will go on long past the Palace game.

Effectively saying Unsworth isn’t good enough now and it would be difficult to lure another manager from the PL apart from Silva if it stalls so you would hope they have gotten enough positive signals from Silva and his people to lay their cards on the table.

Perhaps the silence of the last few weeks was being put to use.

I like Silva, would not be my choice in an ideal world but the best of the realistic options given the circumstances and infinately better than Dyche or Allardyce.
He's on a two year contract and is very unlikely to be on a lot so it shouldn't be too hard to buy out that part and offer Watford compensation that's tempting enough.

I think it must depend on just how much Silva's head has been turned and how disruptive that could actually be for Watford if the club, the players and staff all know he'd rather be somewhere else right now, even if he won't actively agitate for a move himself.

It isn't really as straightforward a choice as Watford's initial rebuff may indicate.

Who do you think we would get mate? Clearly the board aren't expanding there horizons out the uk

That’s the crux. They need to look overseas, as there are plenty of good quality managers with experience and who are winners and more importantly are obtainable. There is no-one IMO in the UK who is good enough for us

I do wonder why managers join Watford. Rarely get a fair crack. He could have joined Palace, who I sense would have given him more time (due to him not messing it up akin to De Boer).

I sense he chose Watford as a short term fix, with both sides quite aware it was a season max he stayed for.

This.
He knows Premiership jobs come up very regularly and he will have several 'target' jobs in mind. Everton will be one of them for sure.
When you see who West Ham and Palace got in I'm mightily relieved we're taking our time.
Silva will be at the helm by the weekend.
