Yes, I remember last week you were still calm about it.

Now resembling the violinists on the Titanic when they finally decided it was time to stop playing and get the hell out of dodge?
No not really that.

A week's a long time in football. I said last Wednesday if we got our first choice manager in the international break it couldn't really be said to be the shambolic pursuit others were painting it as. 7 days later there doesn't seem to be any indication that we will get our first choice manager, and the international break has come and gone. As I said above, if we appointed Silva today i'd still say it had been fairly successful, but that seems unlikely, and I assume we'd then be waiting until next week for movement. That would be three more games and 2 weeks training that the manager had missed out on compared to if my original conditions had been met. Hardly surprising that I'd feel differently in those circumstances really.

Ange Postecoglou (Australian National Manager) is available after just stepping down from the Aussie team.

Won the A-League with Melbourne. I think he did a pretty good job with basically league 1 players and I like his playing style and he thinks outside of the box. In the same mold as Marco Silva and Poch.

Only downside really is he hasn't managed outside of Australia I believe.

Smacks of Swansea going for that "Bob the Yank" swerve, big time

The side point here is with so many teams sacking managers and hiring in the mean time. The same thing has been said

But look at who they appointed, would you have wanted puel/moyes/hodgson etc

That's not really the point. They sacked someone, identified who they wanted and hired them as swiftly as possible. Doesn't make any difference who it was, if one was to go on and win a trophy this year for example it still wouldn't change the fact we didn't want their manager.

So who will win, west Brom or Everton in the next appointment race?

I fear that we're about to announce the appointment of Tony Pulis as our manager this lunchtime in an effort to hide the 'bad' news amidst Philip Hammonds Budget bad news.
But Bill, it won't work!

...yesterday @davek mentioned ‘Runes’. Well, an hour or so ago I went to the gym on Edge Lane for my very old man’s 5k jog. Looking out of the window over the expanse that was once the magnificent building of John Moore’s Littlewoods empire a figure passed silhouetted against the backdrop. If it wasn’t Benitez, it was his double.

It might be a sign.

If Unsworth gets the job, we deserve the relegation battle which will ensue.

Clueless at best.

Surge as in 'no change at 3/1'?

????

Gone from 5.6 to 3.6 on the Exchanges in the last 30 mins dave; the best place to watch the live betting patterns.

Silva gone from 1.98 to 2.32, that's a drift of many ticks, I would say we're at an impasse and it could be OFF

UNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSY and his clueless Brexit-themed picks until at least Christmas.

....you would imagine that would be reflected in the high street markets by now, the bookmakers won’t want to be caught. I just checked, Silva is still odds-on across the boards, Unsworth available at 5-1.

Nah not necessarily - bookmakers won't be laying much at stake anyway, whereas exchange ticks will be more generous.

...I thought exercise produced endorphins to make you feel happy? :coffee:

Everton and Watford have both deleted their 'pinned tweets' on twitter... not sure if you can read into that too much though
