Chelsea’s interim manager signs off at Stamford Bridge today with a thinly veiled “come and get me” plea to any top English club – apart from Everton.

Having been Liverpool boss, Benitez knows succeeding Old Trafford-bound David Moyes at Goodison is a non-starter.

“It would not be easy for them to approach me or for me to go there,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for Everton, but obviously it would be very difficult for me (having had the Liverpool job) as well.

“It is still my idea to join an English club, but it is important I find the right one and I don’t know which one that will be. There are a lot of rumours but nothing official.

“I am a family man and I want to stay close to where my family is (in the North-west), so I will have to wait and see what happens.

“I want to compete and my next club will want a manager who can compete for something.

“It would depend on the project. That is the key.”

Frank De Boer for me, I know he has only managed in the Dutch league which is hardly tough if your at one of the 3 big clubs, but he would come from a club with the mentality of winning, and as an ex defender he would hopefully sort us out at the back, plus he likes his Ajax team to play with style and attack.
He has also shown that he is willing to mix it up and change styles if need be to win a game.
Guess it wont happen though as Martinez will be here for the foreseeable.

I like that Karanke me, bit like Bobby but boro know how to defend!

Would be a good manager to sort out the defensive side of things but he's had quite a bit of money in the championship and spent it on average players. Brilliant defensively but he's not excellent with money, and any creativity going forward will be stifled. That said, I would be comfortable with him as a successor if Bobby goes.
